just a question but who are they?

I'd count 2 IMO that are bad.

And that's it.

Not all of those brackets updated after the LSU win to be fair. Of the brackets that updated on 2/20 Florida is in 37 out of 39 of them. I think we're solidly in right now but that could change which means we're still in the "work left to do" category

I think Mississippi State is pretty much a lock. Auburn and Ole Miss would both need collapses to miss so I'd put them in "should be in"

Bracket Matrix hasn't updated from last night's game yet. I would think Florida will be in on almost all of them now.

Texas is the first #9 seed and Florida's resume is pretty much indiscernible from theirs

I'd rather get a #10 seed of course but I think we're trending towards an 8/9 matchup

I do not want a 8/9 seed. That means facing a Duke/Gonzaga in the 2nd round, no thanks -- I want an easier path to the Sweet 16 for this group. Give us a 10-11 seed and I'll be happy. Outside chance on a 7 seed though if we go deep into the SEC tourney and only lose to UK in our season finale. Very outside chance, but something like 22-23 wins could put us there.

South Carolina has lost too stony brook at home. Wofford at home by 20. At Wyoming which is one of the worst teams in all of college basketball

Oklahoma state too. Their profile is laughable at this point. Indiana belongs in the tournament way more than South Carolina and they are .500

Florida would be in today but they lose to Missouri, gerogia or vandy in their next three games and they are in trouble again. They better win those

Arkansas has no chance. We wont even get a NIT bid. Hopefully that means Anderson is gone at the end of the year though.

I don't think either of those are bad losses since they are better teams than us and NCAA Tourney teams.

Ill give ya Wyoming and Okie State (who also beat LSU)

the only thing that's laughable is this new 'transparent' NET ranking that assigns arbitrary rankings off factual data. where's the formula that explains how the final number is calculated using the data? NCAA not real transparent about that, are they?

there's no way Cincinnati U is being punished as bad as South Carolina for also losing a Q4 game - and having a lower SOS and less wins vs Q1/Q2 than the Gamecocks.

USC/Cincinnati

#27 Cin 4-2 Q1 / 2-1 Q2 / 9-0 Q3 / 6-1 Q4 - SOS 82
#82 SC 3-7 Q1 / 4-3 Q2 / 2-1 Q3 / 4-1 Q4 - SOS 21

15 of Cin 21 wins are against Q3/Q4. USC has 1 more Q1/Q2 win than Cin.

Cincinnati is currently projected as an 8 seed by the 4 letter network.

55 spots difference in the NET rankings and both teams have a Q4 loss - and the team ranked 82 has 1 more win against the top two quadrants. ---that's what laughable---

if you want a real laugh - compare USC's quadrant record against projected 9-seed Baylor (32 NET) - WHO HAS 2 Q4 LOSSES

Here’s a serious question. What means more for Gamecock fans.

One and out in the NCAA tournament or win a few in the NIT?

I honestly think the NIT for some reason. I’d like more wins and more games played for our younger guys.

This.

It's a better recruiting pitch to say we went to the NCAA last year.

It's not nearly the same team that lost those games. SC has improved immensely. A team should be looked at as how they are now, not how they were way back in Nov.- Dec..

Every game counts, you cant go 4-8 OOC and expect it to be ignored, your NET on the season is horrific, you are nowhere near a tournament team. Only way South Carolina can get in is through winning the SECT. It's not like you're beating the best SEC teams, you're just preying on the bad ones and middle of the road ones. You've been destroyed by the Top 3 SEC teams.
