Who in their right mind woulda thought that?

still think the fit argument is dumb. Saban was a northerner his whole career before LSU. Same with miles.

It’s either a troll take or just a lazy take that makes no sense whatsoever for the exact reasons you wrote. If Kelly fails it won’t be because he didn’t “fit.”

This is how utterly desperate the LSU fanbase has become. They're crowing and chest beating like fricking crazy because butt grindin' Brian has the number one quitter hole recruiting class, barely beating out that west coast gut pile known as USC.

This makes absolutely no sense. Kelly came in December and obviously had no real chance to impact the 2022 signing class. So the fact that he filled numerous holes with good quality transfers should be a bad thing or disappointing? Try harder.

I think LSU is in fine shape with Brian Kelly, he put together very good teams and was contending at Notre dame with no talent, brought Cincinnatti to major bowls and he will bring a level of team management to LSU they sorely need

LSU does more for Kelly than Kelly will do for LSU

It turns out there are a few reasonable posters on this board.

I don't need to try harder.

Some decent players entered the quitter hole and the butt grinder picked up his fair share of middling ones. Twelve largely mid to lower grade guys. So there's quantity I suppose but not much else.

The really good ones although few, went elsewhere. You know, like Alabama.

Well, the perfect fit in Coach Waterboy got canned, so nobody will compare.

His recruiting classes were, from 2017-2021: 10, 15, 18, 9.

I wouldn’t call that “no talent”. It’s not top tier but they also never put up any more of a fight than Cincinnati did in a NY6 Bowl and they have a lot more talent than Cincy.

I agree with Drewbie. He is a good coach but LSU is a huge culture change for him. Time will tell

Not year one, just in general as a ceiling. I don't see him winning big at LSU. Just doesn't fit to me.
Funny he seem to go 10 and two a lot and Notre dame I made a few college playoff appearances no I think LSU will do just fine against Arkansas and the rest of the SEC for that matter

I'm indifferent. I'm certainly not scared about it, but I wouldn't put money on him going on some crazy run.

I think you could have done better and if he does have success, I'll likely credit it to the program first and him second if at all. At least until he proves me wrong.

The “he doesn’t fit the culture” narrative is about the most pathetically overhyped excuse people keep making about Kelly and LSU lol.

The man has been killing it with transfer portal players and recruits since he has stepped foot on campus. And has built a very strong staff. The man has been extremely successful everywhere he has been, and now with the athletes he will bring to LSU will definitely showcase his coaching abilities.

I truly believe he will win at least 1 or 2 National titles at LSU before he is done
