Tennessee: 15-12 (7-7) & the last 4 regular season games:

vs Vanderbilt
@ South Carolina
@ LSU
vs Bama

I would think that UT needs to finish no worse than 3-1 over that stretch and grab 1 game in the tournament to be on the safe side of the bubble.

Go 4-0 over that stretch and I think UT has a solid shot of dancing regardless of what happens at the tournament. Win 1 or more in the tournament and I think UT is a lock.

Go anything worse than 3-1 over that stretch and it's the NIT to end the year (Which would still be a positive step in year 2)

Vandy

49 RPI
3 SOS, 1 OOC SOS
Top 50 Ws - @ Ark, @ UF, Iowa St, USCe

Remaining Schedule
@UT
Miss St
@ UK
UF

Say Vandy goes 3-1 down the stretch only losing at UK. 6 top 50 wins with one of the highest SOS in the country gets them in, RPI at that point would likely be low 40s as well. I don't particularly see it happening but even at 17-14 a team with the good wins and schedule VU has played is going to be hard to keep out of a 68 team field.

That would get them in, but they're more likely to go 1-3 against that remaining schedule. That's the most likely scenario according to RPI Forecast. If they're entering the SEC tournament at 15-16, they'll need to win it all to make the tournament.

Just noticed Jerry Palm doesn't even have Tennessee on the bubble, they're completely out according to him. He's starting to contradict himself. I heard him say the other day that overall record isn't a huge factor, but he says Tennessee is out due to their overall record.

Lunardi has them in the last 4 in.

Jerry Palm also said Tennessee wasn't on the bubble in late February of 2014 (after a Feb. 22 loss @ A&M dropped them to 15-11 and 7-7).

Tennessee made the Sweet 16 that season.

To be fair, he wasn't the only one, and Tennessee barely got into the Dayton game.

Jerry Palm is an idiot. I wouldn't pay attention to anything he says. He knows nothing about how Bowls or the NCAA Tourney is picked. He misses bowl tie-ins all the time. He didn't know the APR rule for 5-7 teams and kept arguing that Texas would get a bowl because of their name. He also loves him some Ole Miss. I don't know what the connection is, but in football and basketball he always overrates them. If you are going to do this professionally you at least need to know how the whole process operates. His projections suck compared to others. I don't know how he keeps a job.

Yup, the Bracket Matrix ranks braketologists(ha ha) by accuracy over the last 10 years or so..he's stuck in the bottom 1/3.

I believe every single bracketologist on bracketmatrix had them in on Selection Sunday and they were the 65th/66th team. NC State and Xavier were the last two in.
