As a Mizzou fan, we just have hated enemies. And while we 100% traveled to the game and had a good time, we’re still pissed we even gave those shitty red legged faggots the privilege of getting to play us.
Why do the SEC “rivalries” feel more like butt buddy showcases?

Is our showcase with the pigs a rivalry? Because we get to post funny coach Drink memes and remind them they’ve never beat us in COMO?

Mutual respect maybe which is something northerners don't quite understand.

Your rivals are all Yankees except for Arkansas.

You’re bringing a bunch of dorks to the party.

That’s Mehzouri.

As a kid it was Ole Miss - then Alabama. 8&4 wanted to be and Tulane to a lesser degree..pffffft

Rivalries are when 2 pretty good teams go at it year and year out and typically has title implications. There is a healthy dislike, as well.

Our biggest rivalry is literally called a cocktail party. I want to win, but even in the dark days of the Goff and Donan eras I never didn't have a good time going.

Also, I don't think you really grasp these sorts of rivalries. Spurrier is a product of it. He hated Georgia because of how this rivalry played out. Kirby hates Florida because Georgia was consistently owned by Spurrier in his playing days. The Cocktail Party, The Iron Bowl and others run deep.

And it isn't all a party...we just save the hate for Tech like Florida saves it all for the Noles.

Missouri is the one team I wish we could give back. Not Southern. Good at nothing. Just a bunch of fricking weirdos.

Well there have been numerous fatalities and felonies resulting from SEC rivalries, especially involving Bama fans, so what is your point? Some gay arse Kansas bullshite?

Respect is something earned, not bestowed or grandfathered.

In this Rant bubble it's fashionable to say Mizzou fans are begging for respect when in reality even Vandy gets more respect for accomplishing far less. If Auburn or Florida had accomplished what Drinkwitz has they would have; 1) been ranked much higher in all the pre-season polls (good God look at the foolish Florida hype this year), and 2) Drink would be getting touted as Coach of the Year material.

I don't think any Mizzou fan legitimately thinks Mizzou deserves to be in any Alabama or Gerogia conversation, but they do deserve to be in a Tennessee - Oklahoma conversation of programs knocking on the door. Hell he beat both of them in their last meetings.

I admired the hell out of what Mark Stoops had going on in Kentucky for a while. Drink inherited that kind of program and has developed something pretty special. He's built a culture where Mizzou guts out come from behind wins like Saturday. More than that he's marshalled donors for NIL, worked the transfer portal to perfection, and has us on a second stadium expansion. And now he finally has a quarterback pipeline going.

He may never get us over the hump and into the CFB playoffs but he's forever changed the program.
