Better system, I think. Probably some stuff that is too high/low

The points you get for the season are how far in the tournament you reached, not all combined
- National Title (40 pts)
- Final Four (15 pts)
- Elite Eight (10 pts)
- Sweet 16 (6 pts)
- 1st/2nd round (2 pts)
- Conference Regular Season Title (8 pts)
- Conference Tournament Title (3 pts)
- Conference Wins (0.15 pts)
- Conference Losses (-0.15 pts)

Overall
1. Kentucky (1,368)
2. Arkansas (481)
3. Florida (282)
4. Missouri (258)
5. LSU (230)
6. Tennessee (222)

9. Mississippi St (121)
10. Vanderbilt (92)
11. South Carolina (81)
12. Auburn (64)
13. Georgia (26)
14. Ole Miss (5)

If you wanted to go a little deeper on this, you could even include drafted players. Would be interesting to see how that changes some of these rankings.

Did Florida used to have a bad program? figured they would have been much higher than us since we've never even had a final four.

Florida's first NCAA tournament was 1987. Their first SEC Title was 1989. Their first SEC Tournament Title was 2005.

So basically their entire history is in the last 30 seasons. And it's been an incredible last 30 seasons.

My only suggestion is (and God knows I'm not doing the work to figure it out), maybe more points for conference wins and perhaps for top 3 finish in regular season standings.

But infinitely better than those rankings in the earlier thread

Donovan pretty much built the Florida you know now. It was a whole lot of nothing before then.

That'd feel a little disingenuous though if you're talking about ranking SEC programs. A player getting drafted doesn't necessarily equate the quality of their team.

Kind of my thoughts too. I don't really like when individual awards are included in theses types of lists.

Just for clarification, runner-up would be awarded the final four 15 points correct? Or is that 40 for reaching the National Title Game itself?

Wins should count more, IMO. That's a true indicator of staying power and consistency.

We pretty much sucked at everything but baseball and swimming prior to 1980.

We've had our fair share of Kentucky guys drafted who really had no business being drafted too.

I just think you have the Chris Silva types that helped USC get to a Final Four and had lots of SEC accolades but didn't get drafted. The points should go to their in-college achievements if we're comparing college teams. Especially when you have the NBA drafting on potential as well.

Think a little more weight should go to wins/losses, it takes 30 wins to equal winning a conference tournament? I'd at least double that multiplier to .2 from .1.

Would also switch 1st/2nd round win and winning conference tourney with each other. More weight to winning NCAAT game vs. conference tourney.

Who cares about this in college basketball? people only care about the post season like George said. It's completely different than college football. It always has been, but it is even more so now days.

Changed from Total Wins/Losses to Conference Wins/Losses and moved from 0.10 pts to 0.15 pts.

No change in order.
