Who all are you thinking he recruited and is making an impact?
Posted on 5/7/19 at 10:54 am to boot
Most of, if not all of, the current players on roster. Baseball recruiting is usually 2 to 3 years ahead. You probably won't feel the effects from Lemonis recruiting for another couple of years.

He was there for a little over a year. Most of the players he got to sign were already committed, but kudos to him for keeping them onboard and flipping Tanner Allen.
Lemons is a known recruiter, not sure what effects you’re referring to.

Obviously.
If he had said Cohen’s recruits it would’ve been more believable.

That's crazy.

It's crazy to think we lost 6 of our 9 starters last year, and still are Top 5 in most offensive categories.
I thought they'd be ok hitting wise although they are hitting a surprising stride.
I thought they would struggle bigtime with pitching. Although the bullpen as a whole was better last year, I really think the weekend starting rotation has far exceeded my expectations. Especially as much as Campbell has improved.

By the looks of this we're exactly what I feared, a paper tiger. We've had some big games offensively, but on the whole we're merely a good, occasionally great offensive team with questionable team pitching.
Two more weeks for this team to realize their potential. If not, I really hope Bianco's decided he wants out

Ole Miss is the perfect example of how fickle baseball can be. The success of this entire season could hinge on the birth date of 1 pitcher from last year. If Rollins is on this staff it could be a real contender. Who knows, they may stiil be?

All things considered, I like where we sit for the postseason if we can remain healthy. Just enough offense to get by with outstanding pitching and defense. Usually a recipe for success come tourney time

Im not sure I see what you are seeing. We are top 3 to 5 in virtually EVERY offensive category, playing in by far the best division in the best baseball conference in the country...why do those stats make us a paper tiger? Im not saying you are wrong, I just want to understand.

We were projected to be one of the best offenses in the country, even possibly THE best, and we're merely a very solid offense in our own conference. I mean, yeah, the SEC represents half of both the top 10 and top 20 in RPI right now, but we're at the absolute best the 4th best offense in our own conference. Our pitching can easily leave us exposed too. We don't hit nearly as many homers nor score as many runs as our reputation would indicate, but when we're on, we're on. Last Sunday and the Florida series showed that, but we typically score 3-5 runs more often than not
Also keep in mind that the two games against UAPB where we outscored them 37-2 inflated our numbers pretty significantly
Edit: I'd love to see stats for just conference play too, but I'm sure that's a bitch to compile

Here it is. We are actually playing better in conference play. stats SEC games only

Damn. That makes me feel significantly better. And also confirms my suspicion that we’ve been kinda sloppy fielding the ball against conference foes haha. The next two weeks, particularly this weekend, are simply massive

Right on. Huge weekend for the Rebels. I realize that I may or may not be setting myself up for major disappointment, but I am kind of optimistic about this years squad. I think we are gonna make some major noise in the next month 1/2
