i wouldn't call that "shining"

You don't think having the longest ever streak of NCAA tourny and CWS wins, making it to the CWS 11 times, having one of the highest win-to-appearances ratio in the CWS, and having the longest active streak in the SEC of making it to the NCAA tourny is shining?

shining is going 6 for 6 in title games.

LSU was perfect in title games in football and baseball until someone had to mess up that streak.

They may be below us in national titles, but I would put SC on par with LSU's baseball program right now.

Watch out for MS State in the coming years. Great recruiting classes full of quality arms to go along with that SEC Championship last year

Is Alabama a good state for baseball talent? Not a flame, just asking.

It is a pretty solid state for baseball talent, but nothing near the level of that football is.

NCs matter...you deserve props for your NCs, not your SEC tourney or regular season SEC championships. They mean nothing and I'd say that if we won and then faltered when it mattered.
I'd agree with you on tournament championships, but winning the conference (reg season) is a great accomplishment

I think that applies for basketball too. I know you get an auto-bid in basketball so it obviously holds its importance (see UGA a couple years back) but in both baseball and basketball I think regular season titles > tourny titles because they show a season's worth of success.. not just some flash in the pan win a few games in a few days.

That really only holds true if you are talking a true round robin schedule. Otherwise, scheduling differences are too great to consider them legit titles in many seasons.

Not in a conference as deep as the SEC they aren't.

Actually, Miss State won the SEC tournament championship last year, not the overall championship, but it is a good start. They do appear to be turning things around there.

I understand what you are saying, but scheduling differences or not, anytime you win the SEC conference title in baseball, that team earned it. LSU earned it last season taking 2 of 3 on the road against UF & SC.

Sure right now they are but I thought we were talking about all-time Historical significance. At the end of the day, the end-all measuring stick in any sport has got to be national championships. Just ask Alabama about that in football right?
