I don't get this. There has to be something else here, something that only the threat of Discovery in Federal Court will shake loose.

The whole lack of institutional control is a nothing burger! Just look around, and you’ll see every legal expert saying that it’s laughable for the SEC to run with the lack of institutional control argument. The SEC is digging themselves into a hole that they will not be able to climb out of.
The other thing that no one‘s talking about, is that ESPN has no doubt, already been on the phone with Greg Sankey, telling him exactly what’s going to happen if they kick LSU out. ESPN will immediately file charges in federal district court for a breach of contract. The very best case scenario for the SEC, is if ESPN is willing to renegotiate the TV rights package. But even then, it is going to be a massive drop in revenue for each member institution. I can’t see any of the other 15 members actually going through with this vote. But you never know, when you have an ego driven, completely arse hurt individual like Sankey at the helm.

I think it has to do with interfering in the NFL, which is a huge no no. Then getting NFL players to sue for eligibility? We are in uncharted territory

I think Sankey already knows how the vote will go before he ever proposed it. I don’t think anyone besides lsu wants previous pro players in college. I don’t think it’s fair to the kids that worked hard earned playing time to have that taken from them either

It was said the B1G denied Oklahoma. I don't know if Oklahoma applied or simply asked about membership but that was said back then.
LSU is a bigger prize and I doubt the B1G would make the same mistake with the Tigers.

That will most likely come to pass.
Send players back to the “minors” for additional training.
The judicial system has been shredding the power of the NCAA and will shred the powers of the conferences as well.
The entire system is fricked up and there is no way to stop the train.

Well, we’re about to find out I guess. I mean, I’m currently sitting at about 95% that these dumbasses know they can’t kick LSU out, without suffering catastrophic consequences. But, I keep reading more and more stuff, that makes me believe that they might be willing to actually take the leap. LSU to the B1G is just completely unrealistic for me still, but I guess we’ll all find out soon enough. Hell, it would actually be great for me! I’d be able to attend way more games!!

Trolling aside (I hope you're trolling), no chance in hell.
First off, the NFL itself would be acting with decisiveness and swiftness if any organization, school or business "interfered" with it.
Second, there's absolutely no angle for that to be the case.
Sure, Chambliss, Pavia, etc, they can make more money for a year remaining at the college level. But they can't stay indefinitely, as there are multiple rules in place on that. They certainly can not stay in college for a timeframe that the NFL would offer, and not for an NIL deal that would in any way approach what an NFL vet would make.
According to google, there are about 350 players making over 10 million a year. There are 23 QBs making at least that, 19 QBs making over 20, 12 making over 50 mil a year.
Colleges can not begin to compete with THAT.
We're talking about a small, select group of players here. Guys that fit the 5 for 5 definition, not good enough to make an NFL opening day roster, but good enough to possibly help a college team for 1 year.
On that angle, I'm kind of surprised about Dae'Quon Wright even being in this spot. Harris I get, he had an injury and some legal issues; but Wright seemed to be a highly productive receiving TE. How does he not go in the middle/late rounds, and basically be a lock at TE3 or 4 for someone for a year?

That’s funny, since there’s four or five other SEC schools that are already played pro players.

Nebraska was AAU when they were admitted I believe. So not the same thing. If I am wrong about them being AAU before just let me know.

ND tv deal is 40-50/yr. SEC total distribution is $70ish/yr and includes all rev sources. LSU should start shopping a solo deal to networks and apple/youtube immediately. Call
