What does this have to do with the spread or the non-spread of the virus?
Not a lot, in terms of actual epidemiological concerns. It would have more to do with covering their arse in case things go sideways. They just need to be able to say that they tried to be safe.

Are you referring to the odd phrasing?

It's saying conference only. I guess we'll find out in the next week or so...

No, Ross should know the SEC currently plays 6+1+1... not 6+1+2
Especially in an article specifically about SEC scheduling

Need to have the balls like the ACC and play 10 + 1 OOC game...

Probably go with 10 SEC Games plus 1 OOC.
Here is Louisiana State's 2020 Football Schedule.
G1 @Kentucky
G2 texas (air conditioner in texas locker room non-operational, texas band up in the nosebleed section)
G3 Ole Miss
G4 @Florida
G5 Mississippi State
G6 Tennessee
OPEN
G7 Alabama
G8 South Carolina
G9 @Auburn
G10 @Georgia
G11 @Daddy Texas A&M
5 SEC Home Games
5 SEC Road Games
1 OOC Home Game

Waiting until Tennessee is ready to beat LSU. This might be the year that Tennessee get to play LSU and get a win!

So we’ll be the first team ever to go 0-10 in conference. Oh joy.

Oh wow, even I didn't notice that. I was still thinking about the 5+1+2 model. Either way, I read the sentence several times thinking "something here doesn't look right..."

SEC tv ratings will be HUGE in comparison to other conferences. Great games every single week.

Makes the most sense. Have 1 set of guidelines regarding what to do, what to do about positive players, what to do about outbreak in a host city, etc. etc

FBS football doesn’t follow NCAA postseason. The CFP isn’t governed by NCAA, so that could still occur.
