Guy was hired and working as the offensive coordinator last season until he was offered an NFL OC job with one of the more stable franchices in the league with a new, highly respected young head coach......and it was in the city he was already living with his family in. And had they not offered him the job, he would have been the OC at Alabama this past season (along with the OL coach).

But in reality he left because his wife is a black white supremacist or something.

The funny thing is you could have just kept harsin, freeze and harsin have exactly the same record after 2 years. but muh recruiting. those players hes buying are all gonna transfer when you inevitably fire him anyway
Just like it was inevitable our recruiting class would fold along with the season amirite.

Deboer better do something at OC because, Milroe or not, Sheridan is not the answer.

Does this mean y'all won't get blasted by Oklahoma next year? Maybe keep it a 2 score game instead of 3?

Does this mean y'all will be able to stop Vanderbilt next year?

IDK, does this mean he'll be the head coach of the Texas Longhorns after Steve Sarkisian leaves for the NFL, you return to irrelevancy, and you once again steal Alabama's sloppy seconds to save your program from the dumpster fire that it's been for the past 20 years?

So why did he get fired after year one? I have to imagine he seeks shelter in Tuscaloosa.

Sounds like McDonald didn't love the nature of the offense - especially the pass/run breakdown and the way it meshed with his defense. McDonald is a Harbaugh/Michigan/Ravens guy, and the way Grubb/DeBoer traditionally play offense doesn't exactly mesh with that ethos of complimentary football. They weren't terrible on offense this year, but they were definitely up and down. I'm not sure exactly what McDonald thought Grubb was going to run, as this is kind of exactly what he and DeBoer have done for years, but the messaging coming out of it is that he wants to look more like the Ravens.

I doubt he'll have NFL OC offers out there, but he'd have plenty of college ones if that is what he wants to do. Think it will just depend on whether he wants to do his own thing and be in complete command of an offense or wants to get back with his buddy for a year or two. And I have no clue what that answer would be.

Honestly, at this point on this board, it's hard to tell who is serious and who is not

“I felt like the direction our offense was going was different than the vision I had for our team,” head coach Mike Macdonald said.

Why? Because Grubb’s Seahawks didn’t run the ball enough. Ultimately, Grubb’s offense didn’t run consistently enough for the rugged mentality Macdonald wants on offense, and throughout his team.

Grubb’s Seahawks threw the ball, a ton. The team spent most of the season leading the league in pass attempts.

Grubb was the Seahawks’ first offensive coordinator hired with no NFL coaching experience in almost 30 years.

Are yall okay with the number of RB carries last season?

We are in a new era.

When combined with designed QB runs it was pretty reasonable. We weren't a great run blocking team. I certainly didn't think we were too "pass happy" in general, though there were games where Jalen was so off and shook that I somewhat hoped we'd just run QB power every other play. He wasn't going to complete the majority of throws even if 2 guys were open each play and he was going to make the wrong read on the option. Just tell him to run through the B gap as hard as he could and be done with it.

SOG,

Considering you’re likely the most level headed Alabama fan on the board, who do you expect to be at QB next season and do you expect the offense to be better?

A lot of us have been saying Jalen Milroe wasn’t a good QB from the beginning, but it seems like nothing was done to help him fit into the new offense and no other QB behind him pushed him as starter.

Their defense was too stingy for my liking in the bowl game but I see a real opportunity for Bama to run the ball even less and that will spook lot of bama fans.
