If Woodward was offered a better deal than he has at A&M and didn't take it, he should be fired.

AD's coaches etc are all hired mercenaries.

If they do the job well, they should get extensions and pay increases.

If they fail they should take a pay cut or hit the highway.

Comments like these NEVER backfire. Like, never ever.

With that said. I don't think I want an AD that fell for the Jimbo stupidity.

He simply offered a shite ton of guaranteed money to a coach. So naturally the coach said yes

I mean, he's got a point.

Jimbo commands Mercedes-Benz level money, no doubt...but A&M wrote him an Aston Martin level check. University of Houston could have landed Jimbo if they gave him that contract.

UH could have with Tillman involved, but that doesn't make it true.

Your an idiot if you believe that. I can still hear Saban saying he wasn't interest in coaching Alabama. Stupid Aggie fan.

y’all are setting yourselves up

Imagine if you were the coach or an AD at another SEC school and reporters, knowing your affiliation to A&M, asked you a question like that. Your answer would pretty much be the exact same. Lots of “I love it here” and “no intention of going anywhere”. But when push came to shove you’d go to A&M if offered.

What I wished they'd asked:

"Mr. Woodward, many LSU supporters claim a) that you designed, implemented, and brought to fruition the worst coaching contract in the history of college football when you authorized a contract that guarantees Jimbo Fisher 10 years and $75 million, with no buy-out on his end, and b) that, when Alleva is inevitably fired, LSU is going to hire you away from A&M to save the LSU program. During your time at LSU, was this level of inconsistent thought and general stupidity as widespread among their fanbase as it is today?"

If LSU had an opening for AD, we could do better than Woodward.

You’re just getting trolled, I think people understand that to get Jimbo you were going to have to offer that kind of a deal. It is somewhat risky and I get the argument against but it’s a completely justifiable move.

He better hope that Jimbo delivers or that might be the case considering the contract he gave him.
