Editing this because it originally was a snarky reply that the post should have been in the poli board. The OP has since changed their post to make it fit this board, so I edited my post as well.
On a serious note, anyone conquering personal demons get's a thumbs up from me. While 1 years isn't enough to claim total victory, it's a very good start. Go all the way Coach Cochran.

So cool that Bama and UGA are both running that 4-3 D come this fall....
Just when the football world catches up with saban, he switches to a 4-3.
Then the football world takes about 4 years to change back to what he currently does.
Honestly, I’m not even sure what defense bama is running this year. But I do know it doesn’t matter.
Sabans success has come from his coaches and players being afraid to let him down. It’s about accountability; whether you run a 4-3 or a 3-4.

Saban hasn't run a true 3-4 since 2011-2012.

The current defense? I guess the best answer is nickel/hybrid. They are probably 4-2-5 about 70% of the time.
They looked at getting more speed on the field in the spring. Toying with a 2-4-5 alignment.

Yeah, a few years ago (because of offensive trends), Saban wanted to move to a 4-2-5, or more likely a 3-3-5 base defense.
Pete Golding was/is highly regarded for that scheme, and was brought in to help the long-term transition.
So I guess that's what it would be technically, but it's sort of hard to quantify because there are so many formation options out of that base.

Wishing the man nothing but the best, been sober for 24 years. Sobriety saved and changed my life.

We have always been multiple under Smart. We are 3-4 and 4-3 all the time.

Dude, WTF is wrong with you talking shite about someone being one year sober? Karma is bullshite, but if it was real you'd be in for a world of hurt.

I've been Cali sober for almost 3 years and it's one of the best decisions I ever made.
