It’s a false narrative put forward by them that they are somehow pure as to having nothing but alumni among them.
Yep, false narrative. As a kid in the late eighties, I remember going to the cotton bowl parade on New Years Day and watching the Aggie band march through town. I became a fan of that style of band and recall many t-shirt fans at the parade and back home in my neighborhood, at church, and in school. I guess those people don’t count and just aren’t pure enough to be considered fans :-(

Watching them play the Aggie War Hymn is absolutely hypnotic.
It’s just that good.

A&M has gotten a lot of good press lately. Before long you’ll have plenty of your own t-shirt fans. Wonder if you’ll change your tune then or still beat them away with a stick.
A&M and schools like them like to claim that they just have fans who graduated from the school. But they have their own version of t- shirt fans.
They tend to have fans from families that never went to college and these particular families have always resented the flagship school because that is the school where all the well connected snob families send their kids.
In reaction to that....they tend to adopt the "little brother" school... in reality they hate the flagship school more than they care about the school they actually root for.

Why do aggy fans like to think they are the gatekeeper for who can and can’t be fans?

Most aggy jokes turned out to be true. Guess not as funny anymore ?

Big city schools usually...to much to do and most did not go to college there...so they only pay attention when winning. Plus they usually care about pro sports.

It's been crazy seeing all these Indiana fans act like they know all there is to know about college football after having 2 good seasons.

In my 60+ years as an LSU/CFB fan, Indiana 2025 may be the biggest bandwagon fandom I have ever seen.

Or maybe they always knew but always had a sorry team to cheer for. No need to hate on them. You know it feels great to be in their position so let them enjoy it.

That's not what a bandwagon fan is. You don't have to attend a school to be a fan. You must not have followed college football very long.
I was a Florida fan when I was a little kid. I had never attended. And had I never gone to Florida, I would still be a Florida fan today.
You sound like a yankee saying stupid sht like that.

Bama
Bama and OU have the least bandwagon fans. If you’re from Bama or Oklahoma (outside of OSU fans) football means more to them than anything else. If you ever have a few minutes theres a video where RJ Young talks about OU football and what it means to people and it’s actually pretty moving, even if they didn’t attend the university

If I was from Florida and didn’t go to a different college Florida would 100% be my team. That is completely understandable

Bruhh bama started winning and everyone joined the band wagon.

One of my favorite hobbies is asking bama fans what part of Alabama they are from.
Good thing LSU doesn't have bandwagon fans, coz nobody gives a shot about them except in the 3rd world shithole they call Louisiana

Someone from Alabama calling anywhere else on the planet “third world” is absolutely hysterical

You’ve never been to Louisiana or Mississippi, apparently.
Huntsville, suburbs of B’ham, Daphne/Fairhope area or other places around Mobile, Bama beaches, etc. are all decent places to live without having to live in state run by liberals. But please stay out of Bama, we certainly don’t need someone with your intelligence trying to “fix things” so we can be more like Colorado or wherever you are from.

Miami from the 80s and early 90s was the last transcendent one. It's hard to explain to younger fans how big a deal Miami was in that era. That's back when it was way easier for black people to scare White America and before White America had already seen all the antics.
Georgetown basketball and the Michigan Fab 5 had some of the same qualities.
It was a moment in time.
