The vote was 9 to 5. I see the educational system in LA is still lagging behind.

Yeah but the bitch known as Saban advocated for a 9 game schedule then swapped because he was thinking he would play Tennessee,Auburn, and LSU every year.l as permanent games.
He is 38-10 against those 3 teams last 48 games and pulls shite like this.

Those 5 schools aren’t scared of competition. UGA’s schedule this year is cupcake city though.

Yeah but. We get a lot of that around these here parts. Yeah but, there were 9 votes for 8 games. Live with the fact that you are the minority.

Doesn't matter to the King of College Football. You have to be fair and equitable or you have to do it again.

Or maybe it has something to do with Bama having 16 division titles with LSU having 10, while the other 5 teams combining for 6.

We dominate the playoffs. Why change? What is there to gain?

Playing an extra game is going to eventually bounce an SEC team from the playoffs. And another from NY6 bowl. If SEC starts beating each other up even more than we already do - every other conference prospers.

It is crazy that Saban ran from having to play LSU every year.

Brian Kelly has him spooked!

As a fan there are usually 1 or 2 OOC games that suck arse. Spread is 35+.

And those games are a big economic boost to the college, are usually the easiest to get tickets to, are where most folks take kids/family/casual fans, etc.

Forget the casual fans and the diehards will not be enough to carry a lot of schools.

Like raisins

So help me out Bama, Tennessee and Auburn fans

You voted 8 games

So either those games are not important

Or you gave Sankey the finger

And know those games will always be played whether it’s 8 or 9 games.

I’m guessing number 2

You don’t have to tell him about LSU’s or Tennessee’s, cause Bama got a mouthful last year.

We were absolutely stupid wanting 9 games in 2024. I'm glad the SEC is staying at 8.

Because the two teams that beat him last year he would not play every year with the 1-7 8 game schedule.

That's a lot of rationalization to admit you and Saban were afraid of your 3 permanent opponents.

As Aggies, the rivalry talk with LSU was more like a reunion with cousins that used to see for a while, then wondered why they stopped showing up in ‘95? We understand that the LSU/OM rivalry has been their bread and butter. The LSU series before A&M became coed, integrated, and corps service optional in the 60’s was typically as the money game to make the athletic budget so many times the Age would choose to have the game in Louisiana or off campus at a bigger stadium and keep the gate proceeds knowing it would be a sellout crowd.
I attended when the series renewed in the 80’s and talked to a lot of the old Ags who enjoyed the road trips. Generally speaking, in the 80’s and 90’s, we kind of felt bad about the win streak because it came at Curley’s expense. If we had listened to RC Slocum and others,we would have moved over a lot sooner. Glad to be here, but y’all have been warned, tu is like the old homecoming Queen who is over the hill, who divorced her two exes, then tried to date two other conferences as she looked down her nose at the “inferior” academics, concerned about culture clashes with the SEC. She is only here for the money until DelConte can bring about Dodds dream super conference with ND, USC, et all. There is a reason we call them Berkeley East and that has only accelerated in the past 5 years. Admittedly, we had that DEI poison worm its way into A&M.
