Getting mad at the reporter wasn’t the worst thing. He had players out there giving their best to win a championship. Was he doing the same for them at the time? It would appear not.
You really, truly believe Schloss didn't want to win a championship...you know, the ultimate goal of any coach, any sport, any level?

Beyond maybe spending a few minutes on the phone with CDC (who goes back to his TCU days) I'm quite sure he let his agent work out details while he was prepping the team to achieve the goal. Oh, and he also never lied. I'm sure he did think aggy would be his last stop when he took the job. Things change..

I can answer this as someone who has lived in Texas since the late 90s and worked with numerous Aggies over the years. And now my oldest kid goes to A&M.
Aggies are like Boy Scouts. They are good, honest, down to earth people. So, they just assume others are as well and take people at their word. That's their biggest downfall, in my opinion.

I agree. He acted very indignant about the reporter asking the question. Ironically it's because coaches like him keep doing this that reporters have to ask that question. He went all Bill Clinton...." I did not have sex with the intern!!"

How many of those "Boy Scouts" chipped in to pay for the "greatest recruiting class of all time"?

Or he just realized Texas is a much better school.

A&M continues to be such a joke. All the money in the world and they can’t win championships in the major sports. A&M will always be a stepping stool to more elite programs in most sports. Yet, their fans live in constant denial of who they are. The joke is always on them.

In my experience, they'd usually like you to believe this but they're just as arrogant and underhanded as anyone else.

They just pretend to be morally superior.

A&M and their fans are essentially a brainwashed cult. Everyone else in the world sees them for who they really are. Yet they just keep on getting deeper and deeper in their delusion.

He still had a damn good chance to win one when he made this deal. That’s just insane to think he could have won the whole dang thing and immediately quit and went to another school.

Interested to hear what was the determining factor for him taking that job. More of a prestigious program but facilities are behind and the team hasnt had much success for 20 years now. "Left family behind to take A&M job." Im not certain but looks like fort worth to college station is almost identical distance as fort worth to austin so its not like he is closer to his family.

Show "class" like many coaches have done before, including the GOAT? I mean does anyone really expect any coach to announce they're going elsewhere while still wearing the colors of the school they're currently employed at? Literally the only other way he could have answered that question is "no comment" which nobody likes and always takes as "yes I'm gone" anyway.

Now that’s some spin.

And?

Was NIL not legal by then?

I honestly don’t get the morality implication here.

In the real life work world it is more common than it is not. I am not like this. I am just not wired to do something like this but that is just me. I have seen it done many times.
