An underappreciated thing.
When Mike Huckabee was governor, he pushed for and voters approved a statewide conservation sales tax. Eighth of a cent, if memory serves. The money went mostly to state parks.
Those folks built lodges and cabins and trails and conservation nature centers.
They really are outstanding, good for every season. Rough it or stay in a lodge. Hang-glide or fish. Float a river or go watch the elk.
Second-best thing Huckabee did as governor. First was making vehicle registration easier.
