It’s a fair assessment, and true. Part of UT’s tournament woes is that they’re allowed to bully people at home. That is their entire identity. Sometimes it works on the road, sometimes it doesn’t. Rarely works in the tournament.

Michigan State had a lot of success but also a lot of head-scratching early exits. Personally, I think bully ball is rewarded more than being a fast-paced offense in the tournament. Officiating in the tourney seems to be friendlier to defense when college ball is already exceedingly friendly to defense compared to the NBA.
