Please note the other SEC special teams player of the week was UF’s Kadarius Toney who ran back a punt for a TD.

She kicked the ball 25 yards in the air. How hard would it have been to pull someone from the stands to do that?

This.
I have more respect for a $5 crack wh*** than I do for today's media. It's complete and total virtue signaling, biased garbage.

It's insulting to female athletes and women in general. Just as another poster said - symbolically awarding someone for something they didn't earn is the equivalent of giving the Downs Syndrome kid the football and the other team getting out of the way to let him score.
How insulting to "equality." How insulting to women who have legitimately worked to earn equality. How insulting to the individuals who earned their spot just for the opportunity to play on special teams - to only have a "symbolic" gesture deprive them of something they worked for.
frick that. frick you. And frick any individual who supports the "symbolic" nonsense that costs qualified individuals the opportunity to be rewarded for their hard work.

Doing recruiting questionnaires with my son.
Female athletes don’t have to list their weight. Males do. It’s weird.

Guys, just get over it. She's padding her resume'. She will be the next Beth Moins(spelling?) for years to come. She'll make 10× more money calling play by play football than playing female professional soccer. All I can say is good for her. Fate has dealt her a winning hand.

She's a Vandy grad, a successful student athlete, and by all accounts a great kid. I'm sure she has a bright future. I hold none of this nonsense against her.
Blame Mason, Vandy, and the so damn woke media for making a mockery of the game and the honor. You might argue that being selected as player of the week isn't that big of a deal. It is to the kids that get it.

But this was a girl who had no interest in the outcome of the game and had no meaningful involvement with the team that I can tell. It's not just a slap in the face to the actual special teams players who work for recognition like this, it's a slap in the face to the entire concept of putting team above self.
as for the people pulling the strings on this, it's not just an insult, it's intended to be an insult
falls under some of the Rules for Radicals bullet points
it's a pointed political attack on an American institution (college football) which the left hates

All a stunt. So why didn’t one of the guy soccer players kick.

I can't wait for the movie about her to come out. I can see the script already.
Sarah starring Brie Larson
Setting: February 5, 2017 NRG Stadium, Houston TX
Locker Room Scene
Tom: "Coach, I don't think I can play no more. My arm is pretty banged up."
Coach Bill: "Tom, you gotta play. All your back ups are quarantined with covid-19! I need you to get through this! You're our only chance!"
A mysterious curvy figure appears at the the locker room entrance and says, "I got this coach."
The whole team starts chanting, "Sarah! Sarah! Sarah!"
Tom: "Coach, you're going to have to put your bigotry and sexism behind you and let her take over for me."
Coach Bill: "Dammit Tom, you're right! Sarah, I hope you brought your uniform."
Sarah: "Way ahead of you coach!"
Coach Bill: "Then go out there and show em' how to play like a girl!"
Whole team stands up and claps.
*End Scene*
And that's how the New England Patriots over came a 3-21 deficit to beat the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51.
