The SEC is also going to vote to send all SEC Rant alters to the Sun Belt.

From live testimony just now in the Pyburn v NCAA hearing:
Mr. Downton: Mr. Sankey, you’ve testified that the SEC follows all NCAA by-laws and incorporates them into your conference’s by-laws, which I appreciate, but did I just hear you say that as the SEC Commissioner, you don’t know what the current NCAA 5 for 5 bylaws that took effect 8/1/26 actually say?
Answer: I don’t. It’s the first time I’ve seen this new manual.
I think this is the whole reason he's doing this. He got embarrassed bad at the hearing.

How in the hell this is not bigger news I don't know. The president didn't know what the hearing was about.

The SEC voted 16-0 to ban any player who signed an NFL, NBA, WNBA, or affiliated pro contract
That would be every player who attended any minicamp, and there are a few rostered in the SEC. None of them play for LSU though.

horseshite!
There's a way to "get LSU to control their coach" and it can be done privately behind closed doors. This shite with Sankey is very public, it's intentional. That he's working at the behest of 15 other SEC schools behind LSU's back and it's reached this level is embarrassing as hell.
You do NOT convene the schools and schedule a freaking meeting to vote on kicking out a founding member over some trivial bullshite like this OR because a head coach (known to be a troll) made a statement in a half time interview with some sideline reporter.
Like an earlier post, the Penn State shite literally took Joe Paterno to his grave, then the Michigan cheating, the Bill Self cheating crap, Will Wade idiotic shite, etc. didn't bring any of those conference members to kick those programs out of their conferences.
If you think it started in public then I really don't see any reason to read the rest.

So every other SEC school that recruited these “pro players” are going to be voted on as well?
Nope.
Most things are handled behind closed doors.

Wins what?
The federal case against LSU that's coming up.
It will establish the SECs autonomy and that will mean it's able to pass its own standards without being held accountable to the rulings against the NCAA.
In a nutshell - every single TRO from here out will not apply to the SEC if the SEC wins. There will no longer be all this bullshite of courts deciding rules and so forth.
And all this stupid shite can be a thing of the past.

What happens if they don't win?

So why is there a vote to expel LSU from the conference prior to the ruling?

More than the SEC just losing the decision, I'm looking forward to Sankey getting embarrassed in Federal Court this time.
This dumbass Boom33 talkin like this case is already decided. His takes are so retarded, it makes me hope Chicken creates a block feature.

2 things I can see happening.
A: Conferences won't have any real power, and we'll all be subject to whatever someone can get a judge to sign off on and a school with the attitude of "If we don't do it, someone else will" to take them.
You can pretty much expect real pro players next year, or 7-year players etc. and the conferences days will be numbered. At best acting as a scheduling/tv partnership.
B: The SEC will kick LSU out and just retain members who agree to the standard and don't recruit such players to start with.

I'm sorry, I can't keep repeating myself. I get a ton of these damn notifications and I can't answer them all.
I laid it out earlier in this thread about lack of institutional control. It's not about a single eligibility case. It's about if the principles of LSU are compatible with the rest of the conference. And again, it's the presidents, not the ADs.
Posted on 9/8/26 at 5:44 pm to Boom33
So again, why would there be a vote to expel LSU if that ruling has not taken place?
Wouldn’t it be the other way around?
Or do you agree this Thursday vote is posturing for an apology from LSU?

You're so shortsighted that you think this newfound power will only be used over recruits?
PETA files a lawsuit against every school with a live mascot for animal cruelty and the SEC agrees. Texas doesn't want to give up BEVO? Fall in line or get kicked out.
A woke group gets mad at Florida for bringing back the "Gator Bait" chant and the SEC agrees. If the fans don't fall in line, kick em out.
The SEC doesn't like a coaching hire, and all the other schools agree. Kick em out.
It sets the precedent that subjective matters can be arbitrarily decided on.
GTFO with your "standards" that change by the minute based on what you think is right or wrong while disregarding what a court says is right or wrong.

Oh yeah, I definitely agree it's mostly to send a message to LSU and that nothing will actually happen.
I will be outright shocked if LSU is kicked out.

The dude is wishcasting so hard for LSU to get kicked out that he's throwing anything at the wall.
Lack of institutional control while not a single rule has been broken is winning a gold medal in mental gymnastics.
I'm going back to ignoring him.
