Since LSU did not add the players to the roster this meeting should have been not necessary. The reason this is Sankey is because or the halftime comment and Sankey did not like it.
So frick the other presidents and the commissioner because you all look scared with this.
No, they had the meeting to decide informally if LSU should be kicked out.
The next one is a formal meeting.
But really, I think it's more about sending a message to LSU to get things under control.

If there was rampant cheating occurring, and mass corruption, okay then let's have a conversation, but as far as I know Kiffin and the football program didn't break a single rule. This is petty.
I wouldn't even want to see Auburn or Tennessee kicked out of the conference.
I wouldn't care too much about the more recent Big 12 additions, but I'm not cool with any OGs being kicked out.

Sankey is only doing what the schools ask them to.
It depresses the hell out of me that the Alabama and Auburn Administrators are acting to oust a founding member institution just based on what's been made public. We do not know or have concrete evidence that LSU broke any SEC rules. And honestly, I can't imagine what could have happened that the 15 other schools would make a move like this, forcing Sankey to convene and take a damn vote to kick them out of the conference.

That's the question, get what under control? LSU did not roster the players, what else are they supposed to do?
There is no evidence Lane or LSU asked the players to sue, the SEC you cannot add "pro" players and LSU did not.
I really don't care if they kick LSU out, but there should be some accountability on what is being asked on LSU right now.

I don't know what information the conference has on LSU, but when 15 members go behind LSU's president to meet and it results in a gathering to cast votes to shitcan a founding school, there has to be some serious shite to even consider ousting a program of LSU's caliber.

I mean like serious!
There were no real threats to expel Penn State, Michigan, Baylor, or any of the rest.
And honestly, if there isn't anything super serious, then this just looks sad and petty and the SEC should be ashamed of itself.

The schools claim LSU has no institutional control over its programs. This is highlighted by Kiffin (and other coaches) constantly trying to push the bounds of the conference rules with the TROs and so forth.
These are things that are known to be against the rules, and LSU is failing to respect them. When that happens within an AD, it is expected that the university itself steps in to prevent it. LSU should have made Kiffin get in line.
And the only reason LSU "didn't break any rules" is because of the lawsuit and the threat of being kicked out. Until the SEC filed, LSU had those players in practice. They even left open spots for them on the roster now in defiance of the entire thing.
That's why they scheduled this anyway, they aren't pretending like it happened for any other reason.
I figure LSU will change directions and nothing happens. But I am fully on board with the SEC on this one. LSU needs to get in line.

This is an unprecedented move by this conference. Of all the various issues, problems, and run-in's multiple teams have had over the decades, i.e. Bama/ Albert Means/NCAA sanctions, Auburn Cam Newton investigation, Tennessee/Pruitt shitshow, etc. This conference has never, ever taken steps this drastic against a member school.
