I think he is a terrible commissioner as the majority of Ole Miss fans would. I'd like to understand a more diverse perspective on him though.

Up vote this if you like him and down vote if you don't like him as commissioner of the SEC.

Then explain your vote in the thread.

Well, he’s not likeable.

Slive wasn’t particularly likeable either but he knew how to negotiate a deal.

I loved Kramer. He was a good man. His relationship with Dickey used to piss me off at times but he always had the best interest of the conference at heart and he never caved to special interest groups or played the PC angle on anything.

Exactly what am I supposed to be judging the guy on?

I really don't have an opinion either way.

As always, we have to break it down for Alabama fans. Is he a good commissioner of the SEC? If you don't have an opinion either way, then why even click on the thread much less respond?

Deflecting on to the guy who asked the question doesn't hide the fact you don't have an answer. It is a reasonable question.

He's knowledgeable, sounds educated when he talks issues and is proactive.

Especially when compared to other commissioners, it's actually a point of pride for the SEC.
Other commissioners sound like country bumpkins (Big12, ACC) or have a reputation for being weasely and corrupt (Pac12).

So it's pretty cool to have a commissioner that looks and sounds competent and progressive.

I’ll never get over the hurricane fiasco.

The game should have been played that weekend.

LSU bent over backwards to offer several solutions and would have helped out Florida in anyway we could.

(Ask South Carolina)

He should have brought the two AD’s to the table and told Florida you have six options.

And we will let you pick the one you want.

We can play Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.

We can play anywhere you want to play.

But we’re going to play this weekend.

Instead, he allowed Florida to let the clock run out.

That is an interesting point and one that I have not thought of. Do you think that he has improved the perception of the SEC or is this more of a personal perception that he benefits from?

God forbid someone prioritize an incoming hurricane over a football game.

It was fate that y’all got your arse kicked in Baton Rouge that year.

Would the perception of this conference not come from the quality of play from its programs? He's running one of the strongest conferences both on the field/court and the most profitable right now. So his personal perception most likely comes from the swag the SEC brings.

I think he's better than the PAC12/Big12 commissioners by a long shot.

There's also been a lot of controversy between schools under his watch. I think that degrades perception.

I just downvoted you. So if you need an honest accounting of Sankey you need to adjust the tally accordingly.

Well then why could all of Florida’s other athletic programs move and get transported to other locations but their Football team wouldn’t come to a neutral site? Y’all can play the victim card for them all you want but it was obvious they didn’t want to play that game both so they could get some rest and make their schedule easier.

If all UF athletics were cancelled and all the teams were held up at the school, that would be different. It was just the football team. I wonder why.

Abnormal controversy between schools, or just the normal infighting and shite throwing, accusations, etc?

I don't see how the perception of the SEC commish is diminished in the view of outsiders because a few of his schools bicker and fight.

I mean the whole hurricane controversy between LSU/UF is over and both programs have new ADs now so it's water under the bridge.
