They are jealous that we have them and they don’t. A guy on a Tech board was gushing over Bamas lights. Talking about how great they looked and wishing GT could have “nice things” too. Made a snarky comment that it made UGA look bad because we didn’t have them. Apparently he thought we couldn’t afford them. Ha. Hope he is watching Sat night.

You ever see those Christmas Lights that shows projection on a house, reminds me of that. They could synch it to music at Christmas and make a fortune.

It's funny that Georgia copied Alabama on this

AL.com Aug 16, 2019

Musco Lighting, a company with considerable experience in stadium lighting, did the work in Bryant-Denny Stadium this week, the company confirmed to AL.com.

Construction Advisory: Sanford Stadium Lighting Following Commencement, construction of the Sanford Stadium LED Lighting Upgrade will begin on May 13

Not that it matters, just had to give the facts. Both look pretty cool.

Unless you already have a ticket or have a huge amount of $ to burn on a ticket you will have to watch on tv or come to another game. UGA/ND is most expensive ticket of the year. I’ve probably had half a dozen people call me this week wanting tickets. Couldn’t help and I’m not selling. These things are scarcer than hens teeth

From the AJC for the guy purporting to be an expert on UGA lighting;

quote:

Georgia hopes to have a lot of other surprises for the Notre Dame game. Since last season, the Bulldogs installed a new multi-million dollar LED lighting system that allows them to change the color of the lights

That’s great. Been hearing this but wasn’t sure if it was true. The AJC is usually right.

That's from the same article I referenced earlier. It was a throw away line the writer put at the end of the article. He's just confused like the fans are on this one. He just saw the picture and was saying what fans were saying. He didn't cite an AD official or the lighting company. He was assuming.

Alabama installed 174 LED lights plus 60 color-changing LED lights.

UGA Tested the Sanford stadium COLOR CHANGING LED LIGHTS.

Sky Cam shows blues, greens, reds, etc

Those lights changing are on top of the box. Not the ribbon lights in between sections 200 and 300...

Bout ready to tell us sorry?

Are you really arguing about how Bama has better lights?

It’s the first project for Musco in which the color of the direct lighting to the field can be changed.

You realize there is more than one company that does this, don’t you?

There have been some weird characters in this thread. Between you digging your heels in that Georgia not only didn’t use LED, but also that they don’t change color - without even seeing them in action.

And then there’s the guy who is complaining about trees being in the line of site because Athens is one of the few SEC towns that isn’t completely flat.

What a ride.

Great for UGA, the new lights should do wonders for the gameday atmosphere and compliment the scenery nicely!

They're not changing any of the colors you're saying.
The green hue you may be seeing though is a camera flair effect that makes the edges of the light appear green. But it doesn't look like that in person.

Most college and pro stadiums haven't installed LED lights. Musco has done 16 NFL stadiums, it didn't say how many college. Safe to say they have the biggest market share.

I have never seen someone be so wrong, and still continue to argue

This is fascinating Serious non troll questions:
