Is it possible seeing as how the Sabans recently sold a home in GA (Lake Burton and it was an investment by the Sabans) that they are looking to do another investment in that area?
Dude, don't ruin this thread. These threads are my favorites. Always show you who the crazies are on the Auburn/LSU side who are obsessed with seeing Alabama fall. When Mack leaves and Texas hires somebody not named Saban, they'll be the ones in the "Saban to the NY Giants" threads promising us he's gone. I mean Saban gets offers every offseason, yet they continue to tell us "first chance he gets he's out." I also enjoy these threads because it shows the Chicken Littles in our fanbase that are either middle school children or drunk in their trailors to continue to fret over this stuff every time it comes up.

I saw that it sold after you first said. Like I said, I know it went to auction, I also know they had to lower the reserve price quite a bit. They also had to go to auction because the could not sell it outright. It was a spec house built at a bad time. I believe it was on the market for well over a year, if not two or more.

It might be one important reason
Rumors have been that Terry is not a big fan of living in Alabama...
Saban wins for Alabama, gets the biggest job in Collge football and upgrades towns so the wife his happy.
Make 8.5 a year, ends up being the HC in history to win MNC at 3 different schools
you can bet that is the line of thinking
And Alabama and LSU fans won't hate him as much now either...
I can see it happening for these logical reasons
Why do I have to think that's his line of thinking? I understand LSU fans know Saban personally and know every intention he and his wife have. I do understand that and I'm sorry I ever thought anything other than that.

Of course Bama can pay as much as Texas can. They might could pay him 50 mil and we couldn't match that, but no one is going to make that leap. 7,8,10 mil? Yeah we could pay that. You're out of your mind if you think any school anywhere is going to pay a coach more than that. So yeah, we can pay as much as Texas.

Yeah, and if memory serves, it was built in the neighborhood where his real lake house is. A friend of his was the developer and seems like it was "Saban's house" in name only. In other words, he let the guy call it "his house" so he could sell it for more. Turns out, it didn't make a difference.

yes I understand the nutt thing and peeps saying he recommended him for a job. I have yet to see a link to that but that part does not matter to me..NS and KS have worked together a long time. Nutt and NS never worked together. So if NS recommends his DC to replace him then that is good enough for me. He runs the D and he is known to be an excellent recruiter. He would keep the coaching staff in tack and would probably keep the offensive and defensive philosophy the same.
So really you are comparing apples to oranges in the nutt vs KS article.

I am not claiming these are his thoughts, I am just doing my impersonation of any ESPN radio jock dishing out opinion for entertainment.
My buddy coaches football and knows a lot coaches around the country on a first name bases, and his email Monday 645 am suggest that Terry was not looking at vacation homes.
I thought he was pulling my chain
I think he stays at Alabama, but with AJ leaving, and this dynasty run as good as it's been, how much better could it get? Seriously, this might be the perfect storm for him to leave for one last job and new challenge that gets him up every morning

Lets be honest here - if he leaves its because of one reason -
Outta here Nick!

He has some money down, but with others as well
And going back to other topic. His university base salary is 245k. So that is his state base. Not sure why the vested pension shite came up.

Fair enough and as I said earlier it doesn't matter right now anyway because Sexton is just getting Saban a raise. Later

I ain't buying the Texas stuff but get out of here with the KS garbage. He hasn't proven anything on his own.
I dont know about KS either. The last time the fans hired a coach it was Dubose.

those rumors have happened for years now and NS contract basically says the same..He has a lot of incentives built in and makes close to half mil when he wins a natty

Could be germans, but maybe CNS is ready to hand over keys to the kingdom to KS so they don't lose him to another program.

Might have to change my tune on this my fellow Bama fans. This pic, unequivocally proves, that he has been flirting with Texas... Bye CNS... Thanks for the memories...

i think we are in a completely ERA on this.

You are crazy dude. Alabama is nowhere near as capable of blowing large amounts if money on a coach like Texas is. UT has the highest endowment of any public university in the nation, is in a state that would be in the top 10 for GDP if it was its own country. Alabama is not much better off than the test of the southern states. At some point you could not match what Texas could blow because there would be public outcrys from the liberals in Alabama that maybe all that athletic association money should be put to better endeavors.
