This sounds like some Texas slop where their fans always cry about what if. What if Colt's Shoulder wasn't attached to a crybaby loser who sat out the game afraid of losing NFL money because mean Alabama players were hitting him.
Hypotheticals are just that, hypotheticals.

Those five games we scored enough to win (arguable with Bama), but Tepper's defense was fricking awful.
Not gonna lie, LSU should have won that game against Alabama. The score was 16-7 with two and a half minutes to go. The final score was 22-16.

He didn’t have the cheating network at LSU that he had in the REC

No not true at all. Sheesus Christ you poor people are stupid.
Tell you what… I’ll make an actual fact, not an opinion, about a football player that “WAS” there before the 2003 season, that Saban did inherit and even some that played on the team before he got to LSU.
I’ll go first. Your star QB Matt Mauck, the now Dentist of Colorado.
First he was practically 35 years old when he started playing football at LSU due to him committing to
Play football for Michigan State and Saban in 1997. After he played minor league baseball (alongside myself) he quit, to go play football at LSU in 1999/2000. Rode the bench for three years and became the QB nobody wanted, but won you a title.
Now, your turn

LSU got Nick Saban former MSU Head Coach Alabama for Nick Saban former LSU HC and National champion. He won 2 SEc Championships in a natty and He also had the program absolutely fricking loaded and we were like 34-6 the next 3 years.
This is correct. At LSU he needed to both build his own reputation and the program itself. Facilities were complete trash when he got to LSU and the administration had to be convinced of what it took to win nationally. But he had not yet proven that he was worth the investment. He also had to learn on the job without any prior experience leading anything close to a title contender.
At Alabama he walked in as a top 3 name in college coaching and Alabama elevated back to that status near instantly. The administration gave him any resource he asked for and complete control because he was a proven commodity. Boosters knew who was in charge day 1. Saban himself was more experienced and a better coach who knew how to win titles from his time at LSU.
I do think he won more at Alabama than he would have at LSU, but there is no doubt he would have won more titles at LSU. He left them just as he truly had that program ready to flourish.

Bama fans still insecure that they had to get an LSU coach to return to relevance.

Saban and Bama coming together when they did was a perfect recipe for success. Good coach plus a program that had the bagman system perfected allowing them to get whoever they wanted.
LSU, at that time, was not willing to go to the levels it took to win during that era.
In the NIL pay for play new college football, there won't be another program that will dominate like Saban did. Now that openly paying players is legal it took away Bama's biggest advantage and ultimately why Saban left the game.

It's no different than a Texas A&M coach doing it a half-century earlier. I think you have the above backwards.

It took the greatest program of all time to realize his true potential, it’s that simple. He took LSU as far as he could, 1 title. But at the Capstone, we took him to the moon.
Had Saban stayed at LSU he wins more than 6 national championships. The Capstone probably hindered him.

LSU was a mediocre program till Saban arrived.
They still rarely beat Alabama.

I hate agreeing with bama fans but you nailed it. Baton Rouge is a cesspool. Used to be a nice place but it was overrun

Saban recruited Mauck.
The flurry of upvotes that I got and the flurry of downvotes you got show who’s the dummy here.
Context is important. LSU was a heaping pile of rubble when Saban arrived, but then they won their first national championship in 45 years before he left. That’s almost a hall of fame worthy accomplishment in itself.
LSU has been a great program ever since, and so he basically changed the trajectory of college football and changed the established order of the elite by what he did.
Again, context is important. You don’t just look at records blindly in a vacuum.

It was not what it is today, but it was top half of the SEC.
From the mid 80s to late 90s the administration was too ignorant and unwilling to take the necessary steps to build a consistent winning program. That changed with Mark Emmert becoming President and hiring Saban.
