saban went to BAMA because he knew his beautifully manicured tailored heavenly spruceful angel winged bangs would fit in amongst all the hoover high haircuts

Just a cheap shot from a Michigan writer because LSU kept the coach a large number of them wanted.

In general, I guess. My point being that Saban pulled all 3 teams out of the gutter. I think that's fair to say.

Changing Louisiana State to LSU....yeah, that was for me.

I love it that Louisiana-Monroe is always mentioned when talking about Alabama/Saban. Until they win a championship, SEC or MNC, it won't go away. I love it. Being a ULM and LSU fan.

No doubt Bama had great history, LSU has been solid, with of course the 90's being in the gutter but was always a very notable program. That being said, LSU keeps this up for say another ten years then yes, LSU is on par with the USC, ND and Bamas. I do think it is time to put the homer domers to rest though, they are fading more and more each yaer and no longer a pinnacle organization.

Ill give that to you. You guys keep up the domination in the west and win a couple more MNC and you will be in that elite group

No, the best coach may be Saban, who never had one of those pinnacle college jobs until Alabama, with due respect to Michigan State and Louisiana State, both of which had distant-past heydays when Saban restored them, to different degrees."

I've actually been giving you guys congrats on your team this year. You look very good. I must say, better than I thought. But this shite is stupid, along with some of the replies in the thread. This is what makes a lot of you gumps look so pathetic. You guys jerk off to little quotes like this from some ignorant writer. But its what you need to hear to make you and you Bama program feel superior. You guys have been irrelevant for so long, its getting to you and its showing big time. You gumps feel better now to hear this guy say the Bama job is so much better than Mich St. and LSU? Just be glad Bama football is coming back and no one can really laugh at you guys right now.

This is an article in a Michigan newspaper. The comments section is pretty interesting.

Paragraph 4 will cause the equivalent of a nuclear war on here.
I have no problem with that. He is certainly a terrific coach. We are very lucky to have a really good coach too. But, I'll always be grateful for the job Saban did here. Without him we wouldn't be where we are. Good luck, except when you play us.

But I also think Les is just as good, at coaching and recruiting.

I'd give Nick the slight edge in recruiting... his last two classes were the best in school history, and were the core of last year's national title. Les' coaching sometimes gives me heart attacks, but the guy manages to win, and win often.
