It was reported Wednesday that President Trump is to create a commission that will examine college sports and its inherent issues such as NIL, the transfer portal, conference alignment, and Title IX.

That's just what we needed... more government involvement.

Government fricks up everything that it touches.

How about no committee and no government involvement to frick things up even further? Do you actually think they are going to fix anything? The best course forward is going to be a split off from the NCAA by the power conferences.

I'm pro-Trump.

But his orange head is clear up his orange arse if he doesn't get what he has just done. Good thing this doesn't mean shite.

OK Hback dude, can you please provide a point by point explanation for why this Trump / Saban college football investigation commission will be a great use of my and everyone’s tax dollars?

Unless, of course, you just love sending your own tax dollars to Washington…

A private company isnt going to clean this shite up.

Someone has to.

Put Saban, Tuberville, Charles Barkley, Andrew Luck Caitlyn Clark, conference leaders, top agents on a resort in Caba. Let them drink and do hores for two weeks. On the last day they can save college sports. Saban can even bring Bronny along for whenever he needs his notebook to be fetched.

I don't doubt your sincerity. For many reasons though, I remain skeptical of the government. A politician's promise can sound good on TV, then its actual execution (if it happens) often gets royally screwed up. What I potentially see happening here is that this new football commission will spend a whole lot of taxpayer money and eventually come up with some recommended actions. But there will still be lots of people feeling cheated at the results, like, IDK, historic opponents of Alabama who think that the commission results "somehow" favor Alabama football...

Then, if Trump's staff puts the college football commission's resulting action items into an Executive Order and tries to make them law by signing the executive order in Sharpie, Trump is likely (he seems to enjoy pushing boundaries) to run afoul of the SCOTUS decision details that originally resulted in college athletes being paid.

So now, all of the pissed off universities, pissed off billionaire Alabama opponent school alumni, TV networks, whoever, file lawsuits against Trump and the U.S. Government trying to get Trump's football Executive Order they don't like judicially overturned. Then Trump has to spend a whole lot more taxpayer money (likely $millions, because Trump is not going to back down) paying the U.S. Justice Department and consulting private law firms to defend his football Executive Order, which will probably go on for years. We have over 200 lawsuits against Trump second term actions going on already, costing taxpayers a fortune... all of these government commissions and defending against lawsuits eventually add up to some real taxpayer money...

This guy is the arsonist who lit the fire on most of the problems we have today in the sport, and now he wants to act like he’s the Chief of the Firefighters.

F him.

The funny thing is that since NIL started, Auburn hasn't managed a winning season, and your recruiting hasn't been great either.

Kinda seems like Auburn is the one struggling now that the playing field got leveled.
