On Thursday, Alabama confirmed Saban's test was not a false positive for COVID-19 with an update on his condition: "Coach Saban was evaluated by our team physician Dr. Jimmy Robinson today. Coach remains asymptomatic at this point and is doing fine. He is continuing to self-isolate and will remain in the SEC testing protocol while being evaluated daily."

It means he was probably tested multiple times, deemed to indeed have COVID, but isn't sick or showing any symptoms.

It means that a 60 something year old man that probably has high blood pressure is sick but has no symptoms or negative effects of his illness.

I'm looking at official statement and I don't see the part where test was not false positive. I'm looking at Cecil hurts and suttles tweet. Dont see it.

Yeah, I've only seen the exact same text quoted in a few random articles and from media members on twitter, but haven't found where that statement actually came from.

I believe it, I just don't have the original source yet.

It's crazy how some die from it and some barely have the sniffles. Buddy of mine's wife got Covid and he tested negative.

Almost no rhyme or reason.

Here's hoping he has a full recovery with no lingering problems.

My mother had it, was mostly asymptotic. Meanwhile hundreds have died at her hospital. Wild really.

Good to hear oldman Saban still kicking strong. It'd had been a downer to hear him having trouble with this Covid.

I want Bama at its best to see how good this UGA team really is.

Dunno, maybe someone is editorializing the official quote a bit, or maybe more information was shared elsewhere?

So.....what that mean

There was supposedly a chance that if he remained asymptomatic and had 3 straight days of negative tests (today, Friday and Saturday I guess) he could coach the game. Now that possibility (if it every existed) is gone.

Glad to hear she came through it with minimal impact.

He's....he's....wait. I'm confused. Is that a double negative or a double positive?

I think CBS made it up... none of the folks who writes for alabama has said it. In fact all are saying if it holds true, he could potentially coach Saturday. Weird how press is spinning.
