Has more to do with poor student attendance for the duration of the game and a bunch of old gray hairs who get mad if you stand.

The three times I've been to BDS I was very unimpressed with the crowd noise. But damn that stadium is so nice. Worst part is getting hit in the face by some old lady with a pom pom

Old people have the good seats at Bama and the games are usually over before halftime.

Its all about which fans are loudest when the clock reads 00:00.

Bama is the loudest fan base in the nation when it matters.

If only we could get superior teams that we want to emulate to come to BDS.

Edit:
Oh wait, There are none.

Somebody call Cleveland.

Did anyone else click on this thread expecting an actual diss?

If it's not a big game, it's pretty dead these days. Mississippi State was shocking. I know there were a lot of circumstances (11 am start, expected easy win that turned into a ridiculous blowout), but man there were times where if you just stood up and clapped you kind of felt like an oddball.

Maybe the area I was in was quieter than most.

Saban's has lost control of the crowd.

Saban does have a point but not when it comes to this particular season. Who have we played in Bryant-Denny so far?

Western Kentucky (38-10)
Kent State (48-0)
Kentucky (34-6)
Texas A&M (33-14)
Mississippi State (51-3)
UT-Chattanooga (TBD)

A&M was a decent team but that game really wasn't that close. The crowd is not going to lose their shite and yell as loud as they can when the team is up 20+ points in the 4th quarter.

The Mississippi State game was over at halftime. About the only thing the crowd had to cheer for in the 2nd half was for the defense to keep them off the scoreboard.

The Iron Bowl should be louder. And the Tennessee and LSU games last year were freaking electric.

I don't think teams fear playing at BDS because of crowd noise, that's for sure. It's pathetic.
id rather they fear passing in bds because they have to play our team

Also, penalties aren't a result of the crowd but lack of concentration.

Speaking for myself, I go to the games to watch my team play and not to be an arse. But that's just me.

This week Saban learned that we had an election, 3 playoff teams lost, and LSU fans complaining about refs is deafening

I don't always agree with Powhound, especially on the Alabama board, but I thought that one was a very good observation. He's right, you know.

edit: But configuration of stadium, entitled fans, whatever the reason, Bryant Denny has never been the loudest stadium in the SEC.

Just imagine how loud Tiger Stadium would be if LSU scored.
