- Head coach Nick Saban, on his use of an expletive to try to calm down quarterback AJ McCarron in the Florida game

It is interesting to see the contrast in how he coached GMAC and how he coaches AJ

I've never seen such hoopla over a coach saying frick on the sidelines. This happens in every game, every Saturday.

He shoulda settled down for sure. Young and having a great season so far and just inexperience letting his emotions get the better of him. He'll grow out of it. Just glad he wasn't doin the dance/jig thing he did the week before.
Oh, and 97 passes without and INT, after road games at Penn St and Fla, with Arky in between. GMac taught him well.

he was taunting the crowd
absolutely nothing good could have come from that. there's a reason Saban punked him out its because he was acting like a douchebag
AJ has phillip rivers white trash syndrome. I dont think Saban can stand him either b/c of his attitude. Saban wanted P Simms to be the guy this year so bad, but AJ was clearly more ready for the job

At least it wasn't like Brian Kelly at Notre Dame.

GMAC never would have acted like that, he is a humble guy who did the best he could
AJ is a cocky white trash prick... with more talent. Saban has to stay all over him or there is no telling what he might say or do. AJ has NO CLASS

I dont think you read the statement right, he "probably" said it!...the man is slick

A bit extreme.
AJ is a typical QB with a brash attitude. Nothing wrong with that as long as he backs it up on the field which I think he has done.

Did a reporter ask him about it? That's just stupid.
Posted on 10/3/11 at 10:17 pm to Alahunter
I feel like Saban doesn't even need to explain himself on this one.
