Hurts is the safe choice. Bama's defense and run game is so strong that they can get to Atlanta without a pass game. Tua's ball security is a liability that Saban can't ignore. I think that both QBs play a lot early with the eventual starter to be determined in season.

Tua had one very good half. Expecting him to be Johnny Football or even annointing him the starter right now over a proven winner is unrealistic.

The kid is still very young and will still have some growing pains.

ha. I don't doubt that UGA fans would rather see Hurts than Tua

Wrong answer. Tua proved all year long he was the better qb, but guys like you would say "but the game was already in hand. Let's wait to see what he does under pressure"

Well, losing in the title game, with 0 points and like 26 passing yards in the first half, Tua came in and won the national title.

Hurts had 2 years to improve and never did.

It is amazing how little about the spring game and practices last year the posters here know. And yet, they know who should start and what a liability Tua is.
Talk with the guys who watched practices last year. Listen to the receivers and you know who the better QB is.
Jalen is an amazing athlete and he deserves respect and praise for all he did to bring Bama to the playoffs but, as you said, he never progressed as a passer. A fumble is a turn over and Jalen fumbled several times. Three and outs add up and give the opponent more chances to score, stressing even a great defense. I'm sure we can chance a couple of interceptions if we see the ability of our offense to score is tripled. With the possibility of Tua's passing the running game will be opened up greatly and the RB roster is scary good. We have so many great receivers it would be a crying shame not to get the ball to them too. I hope we keep all our QBs and they know how much we appreciate them all.

Man, the off season is too long, the fall is going to be fun!

I could even see him giving them both significant snaps in the opener against Louisville to further the charade. And why not? Bama will probably be favored by 30 points in that game.

But if they’re decent human beings they’ll win by 60. Please be decent human beings.

He can’t because he isn’t

It is a miracle Bama still dominated with his arse back there

All we need to worry about is where to put next season’s trophy.

I'm sure Nick will do anything he can to keep Jalen on the roster for the 2018 season even if he has to tell some white lies. I believe Nick did the same in 2016 with Blake and Cooper. FSU had 1 QB in 2017 and we saw what happened when he was hurt. Bama has a redshirt freshmen behind #13 and the addition (it appears) of the East Carolina QB. Does anybody know which transfer QB 10RC wanted more Stanford or East Carolina QB). Perhaps Nick told Minshew info about he QB situation that we don't know about thus that is why he selected The Tide then again Pruitt may have preferred the Stanford QB.
