I wouldn't think that was necessary. It's not like he is going anywhere.

Just to make it more dramatic when he leaves for Texass.

Saban has made Bama do something many University's aren't doing right now. The school itself is growing & doing very well during a tough economy. The University is hiring, having record number of applications(Out of state tuition is huge), positive commercials/media coverage, donations, and I'm sure there's many other positives he has brought to the table. Saban more than makes his keep. Pay the man whatever else is offered, it's a very smart investment......

It's call earning something
Saban has done all that & more

If this was a serious attempt to keep him around, it would have been a larger number. Unless of course that taps out Bamas budget. UTerus will bring more to the table than that. Between salary and kickers from their heavy hitting boosters, 7.2 mil / year might only be half of what he would potentially make in Austin.

You wouldn't think so, but Sexton is just doing his job. Best in the business.

Must suck for you to finally realize that someone would work for half of their earning potential just to keep from having to live in Texas.

Na, I just moved from Texas to Florida for a little less than I was making in Texas.

I guess my point was that, this is nothing more than a rumor. I believe tu is courting saban. But I don't belive this rumor about 7.2. Bama will wait, then counter with something solid when it's time to put the sips in their place.
