Tax write off and didn't do it anonymously. Could be better.

Good for him. He's made a lot of money there and it is good to see him paying forward.

Yeah, it's called the Alabama Athletic Training Center.

Were I Coach Saban, I think I would request it to not be named after me, but I'm not taking issue with him there. That's a hefty chunk of change no matter who you are. That's a bit more than 10% of his annual salary pre-tax. That's a hefty commitment.

Saban, despite what a lot of us may say from time to time, is a damned good coach and a fine man. He may come off as callous and hell-bent on winning at all costs, but I haven't heard any of his former players sing anything but his praises.

You don't have the kind of success he has had by being a dick wad.

Much respect for Coach Saban for continuing to do so much for not only the university that hired him, but for the surrounding community as well.

He was a contributor.
There may have been other backers who wanted it named for him.
Anyway... it benefits all.
Thanks Coach.

Could be worse. Could've done it through a foundation and written it off as an expense...

you know, like the Clinton's do

Good on Saint Nick for doing that

That's a very nice gesture just before his retirement.
