UGA has had attendance issues with students for years. They started taking tickets away and awarding Young Alumni with affordable ticket packages.

I was at the UGA/UT game last week and it was embarrassing to see the frat bros show up late and leave at halftime. Between the Country Club Alumni and Students, our stadium atmosphere has become shite.

Calipari has made the same statements about Rupp. They come, but when it's a quality opponent, not someone you are going to roll by 30.

It’s not difficult to understand the waning interest in Alabama football. It happens to all sorts dynasties. Part of the allure is the unexpected.....the struggle....Alabama does almost none of that. Yes, they have lost a couple they’d should’ve won, but they are nearly perfect and perfection is BORING. Add in a pile of rent a wins and “fans” aren’t spending $500 a weekend to travel to watch you beat UT for the 15th time in a row. Not when they can stray at home and watch it on tv. It’s hard to envision the excitement levels staying the same at Bama......it’s actually impressive that Bama fans travel at all....SEC CG and Rose Bowl travel and tickets cost me about $8k last year. Had I gone to the NC Game it’d been half that much again. That’s EVERY season for Bama fans.....corporate money don’t care but individuals are hard pressed to spend $12k on travel and three football games during the holidays.....

The OP didn't quote it, but he specifically mentioned the students in his presser.

Sheesh...Shut the frick up, Nick. You sound like such a bitch when you say shite like that. You make more money than God and you've rigged the game where few others can compete. So now you basically have a pro team. competing in tbe amateur ranks, and then you schedule sisters of the poor, and you bitch about nobody coming?? Get the frick outta here. Kudos to you for breaking the game, but dont bitch when you do it the way youve done it, you get what you get.

I agree that fans should be cheering when the lineup is announced....but light a fire under the AD's arse to schedule better teams. The OOC home schedule has been a complete joke for years and people are getting tired of it.

What we know for FACT is there is no other fanbase that has won like Nick Saban and Bama. These are the facts and they are documented.

Show us your trophies........I will wait.

Saban needs to coach football.

Bama is not immune to the improved options of watching the games on TV.

All stadiums should be imploded and replaced with 60k seat ones absolutely chock full of amenities. Sharing the stadium w pro teams or other schools to insure you can provide the things fans demand.

You can’t improve the experience if the vendors only have an audience 7-8 times per year.

My gripe is that freshman can only buy packages for select games. My son got A&M and Miss St this year. He would go to all if he had tickets.

I believe there is a system in place that penalizes the students if they don't use their tickets which can lead to loss of ticket buying privileges. Here is the policy: 2 points for non-use of ticket per game.
2 points for upgrade of ticket per game (can only upgrade 1 ticket per game) and 2 upgrades per season.
1 point for each ticket per game donated after 5 pm on Wednesday of game week.
Students who receive 4 or more penalty points will not be able to purchase postseason tickets for this year or regular season and postseason tickets for fall of the next year.

Or maybe bc half the student body are now yankees from the NE and Midwest who probably never have cared about football.

There were glaring empty sections at Jordan Hare for LSU and Arkansas. Malzahn just doesn't have the guts to call them out.

To be fair, the empty seats were in the visitors sections. First time I have not seen LSU use their full allotment. Arkansas on the other hand only brought about 200 fans. It was sad looking on TV. If you know where the visiting sections are in each stadium, you can tell who is travelling well, and who is not. Auburn will have empty seats for the non-conference games, but should do well for conference games.

Yeah but apparently a lot of people use that system and abuse it by just swiping in and turning around and leaving.

The Tradition video was the highlight of the day during my undergrad Shula years.

Agreed! Still gives me chills. I was there from 04-08, was in a fraternity but did show up early and for the most part, never left a game early. I never even considered not going to a game and there were some bad teams during that period.
