Well any coach who is paid to win and does it in such embarrassing fashion to the home team, has to compliment the fans. It's the classy thing to do, but deep down if you know Saban like we do(you know cause he actually won titles for us), it's purely a move to motivate his fans and his team for a real football game in two weeks at his place.

Edit: Grew up going to A&M games with my dad who went there and explained it to me 100 times as a kid and even then I thought it was very pussified. He always says it very smugly and proudly too like, "We don't boo, we never boo the other team." Yeah you don't say the word BOO, but you have a noise you make in disapproval...same shite.
