Did I misjudge the age of this crowd? For us 40 year olds, I'm talking 80's TV.

Black face hasn’t been viewed as acceptable for at least 4 decades.

I really don’t feel bad for him since he was dumb enough to post in on social media.

This isn’t cancel culture, it’s just making a smart hiring decision based on a person’s previous poor choices.

So black face is actually deeper than painting the face black?

Are you an architect by chance? There is a poster on the Auburn board that had 0 total posts and made it. I have no clue.

BS, black face in the style of a 30s Minstrel Show has not been acceptable, but whites portraying blacks has only been a sensitive subject the last 10-15 years. It has also become a double standard in the entertainment industry.

Lol. You think it was because of a chop block? Its because of him wearing black face.

Although both are huge part of the culture at Auburn, the chop blocking was much worse than the black face. The black face MAY have hurt some feelings but most likely no one cared or actually cares now. The chop blocking can end careers or give the victims lifelong knee problems.

Proof that football staff is held to a higher standard than the democrat party... that's why football is better than politics.

Are dark tans still acceptable?

Seriously, if you would want to hurt someone over something you disagree with...get them fired, hurt their family, etc...YOU are the problem in this country whether it's left or right. It's usually the left because they're emboldened by a liberal media and left wing corporations, but it's wrong. Disagree...debate...prove your point...but trying to hurt other people just means your own viewpoints and beliefs are probably illogical and indefensible.

few days after news broke that he would no longer be joining Dave Aranda’s staff at Baylor, Ryan Pugh has released a statement, apologizing for previous actions he made in his life

So, I guess Reese Dismukes has effectively zero shot of coaching anything outside of little league BB OR Pee Wee football squad? And, he won the Reimington trophy after cussing out, threatening and dropping the n-word against a black girl and her brother at McDonald's, coupled with rumors of him calling Reuben Foster the n-word while he was on a recruiting visit to AU.

Dumb of Pugh, as he was old enough in an era where black face was firmly unacceptable. But, is it worth having long term employment issues for a dumb decision in his youth?

I'm guessing he has played and worked alongside enough black people that if he had any real racism in his heart it would have shown through by now.

Yeah you dumb frick. It’s always been a priority for Auburn to hire OL coaches who teach chop blocking and we only recruit players to do that.

Why don’t you specifically explain why chop blocking is “part of Auburn culture”. Back it up with names and specifically the career ending injuries that were the result.

I dont know, we may be misunderstanding each other. As a young kid, seeing it in those cartoons many times, that's the first time I remember learning about black face and that it's wrong to do. My conservative mother with centuries old southern roots told me never to do that. She never said why, just that it's offensive.

Granted it was stupid to even do it but do we
know he posted it on social media ? A lot of people continue to meet
Mr. Trouble because someone else stuck their mug on social media. Today, no
matter what you do or where you are, you're
surrounded by cameras and could become a social media
star in a flash.

I am picking up through the conversation there were black face cartoons in the 1940s. What makes you think he was intending to mimic lwhatever was on that show. What makes you so sure he understood?

I used to play the doorknob game growing up but apparently now I’m supposed to understand I wasn’t playing doorknob game, I was just giving the white power signal .Is that how it’s supposed to work?
