They brought him onstage for the pep rally at last year's title game in phoenix. First time I had ever heard of the guy.

Really? I swear they show him on the jumbotron 10 times a game. Even had a thing last year where people in Auburn raised the money so he and his wife could go to the BCS game. He has been a school crossing guard for many years for the Auburn school system.

He drives the car around town with the 20 flags on it. I think he has a ford ranger now but it was an old buick or something when I was there. He works at the elementry school up on dean

Damn. He wears Jesus shirts all the time to games too. Surprised by that. Guess you just never know what another person is feeling on the inside.

you sure about that?... self inflicted doesn't necessarily mean suicide... could be an accident, IDK?

If it is suicide, just shows you that there's no way to know what goes on inside a person's mind, no matter what their outward expressions may be.

I went to high school with this one guy... during one of the high school's football games rumor started floating around the stands that he had attempted to kill himself. It turns out that he just shot himself in the hand... that's the first thing I thought about when reading this thread.

Sometimes people jump to conclusions about these kinds of things. Not often, but sometimes.

I think the fact that the police confirmed it would make it true, but you never know.
