What the hell is up with all this "love of the game" bullshite about wanting to challenge himself? I could have sworn that Little Nicky only cared about money...

"I don't know how many times I have to tell this to you guys. I'm the head coach at Alabama."

It's just funny to see all these posters act like Saban just loves Alabama. He very well may, but if I had to guess (yes this is a guess) I'd say he enjoys the challenges that coaching brings and winning. I'd GUESS that he could give 2 squirts of piss about the state of Alabama.

I only say that because I remember the man refusing to say "Roll Tide" and it's not like he has ties to the university that I'm aware of.

I used to be a server at a Mexican restaurant in Baton Rouge. That doesn't mean I'm taking the job if they call me up and offer to make me a manager.

I do not see why he would leave Bama for any other job to be honest and this coming from a die hard LSU fan. He has everything he needs at BAMA to win for as long as he wants to coach and could go down as the all time best coach in NCAA history if he does. I just don't see him leaving sorry...

So Saban would go from coaching my most hated team (Bama) to coaching my favourite NFL franchise?

Unlike.

Nick Saban has been quoted several times about why he returned to the college game.

He has also been quoted many times saying he would not leave the program he is at, then he left.

Anyone who believes a word that comes out of a big time D1 head coaches mouth is gullible as it gets.

Why would he leave the most delusional and myopic fanbase in America, feeding his ego with no pro team in his state, with the bamaland-controlled SEC office a 45 minute Benz ride from his crib, with offensive holding calls coming at the rate of a lunar eclipse?

All to be near the Great Lakes?

C'mon man.

You mean to tell me that Bama can afford to pay a coach more than a BILLIONAIRE owner could?

I tend to agree...however, making $12-15m per year could change anyone's mind.

I doubt he goes, but if he does, I will gladly watch the Bama meltdown. You don't replace a coach like Saban at the college level. Bama has been fortunate enough to have had what in my opinion are the two best coaches in NCAA history in the Bear and Saban...chances of lightening striking three times is pretty rare.

So can Texas

It's even more fun to see the Bama fans pretend they know what's going on in his mind. You seem so certain. Links?

I personally don't think he'll leave. But Alabama fans seem to think it gets no better than coaching at Alabama, which is a joke.

More to do with city comparison. I do not like the NFL enough to pull for a team.

anything that bama can match would be money better thrown at the belichiks, parcells, coughlins of the world. If they're going to throw 10 million dollars a year at saban, a number bama could match, why wouldn't they just double belichiks salary? Keep dreaming though

No, but I think Alabama would spend more than Haslam would. He's probably just a name atop the list to him. He means a lot more to Bama than I imagine he does to the Brown's owner. If Saban leaves, it probably won't be due to money.
