Johnny Manziel will replace Nick Saban when he leaves.
Book it.
Book it.

I'm not suggesting Saban takes the Browns job, I'm actually saying theres a 10% chance (and that's generous). BUT if he indeed took the job, I think people might want to rethink his prospects as an NFL Head Coach. Pete Carroll was not very good at all in his first go around, I think he had a sub-500 record and is doing some great things in the pacific northwest. I'd say both situations/coaches are similar, and I'd even go as far to say I would expect Saban to be better.

If Belichick couldn't win there, what makes anyone think that Saban wouldn't fail there? He obviously wouldn't take the chance of majorly failing again, then crawling back to a different college.

In response to earlier comments:
I think it's naive to believe ANY D1 coach when they say they are never leaving. And I admit that Saban has a longer history than most of doing the opposite of what he says he'll do in terms of coaching gigs.
That being said, it makes more sense to take his comments at face value about why he prefers the college game (there has to be SOME reason he left the Dolphins to coach at Alabama). It may not be the same as the Pope giving us his word, but it's more to go on than the speculation of opposing fans who fap at the very idea of Saban leaving.

Bama fans need to understand that the LSU fans here are not hoping or praying for anything re Nicky, at least in the context of him leaving bama. We are just laughing our asses off as we went thru this every yr he was at LSU & we used every argument that bama fans are using now: dream job, all the money he wants, he's a god in town, he can retire here... plus we argued that his kids were in school and he had the hots for Candy. He won't leave bama, we know that, but it still hilarious as hell to hear these rumors again.

I think any Bama fan need only look back to Franchione to understand how you feel.

He is towards the end of his career, he would not come crawling back to anywhere. NFL coaching salaries are guaranteed as well, no buyouts. the only reasons he would leave would be for a huge payday and the challenge

The difference between carrol and spurrier and nick saban is pretty simple. The former 2 were fired or pushed out, saban left on his own accord to come back to college. If he wanted to prove himself in the NFL like has been mentioned 50 times in this thread and didn't genuinely enjoy coaching college ball more than pro ball, why did he leave miami for the pinnacle of college football in the first place?

Miami was on a downward spiral and Bama was no pinnacle at the time of his hiring. there were a lot of coaches who didnt want the job at the time

Saban's 61 yrs old, he's a multimillionaire that obviously doesn't give a damn about spending the millions he makes. All he wants to do is work on his football program and he's so damn OCD that he admits he has a hard time breaking away from his job. The man has very little down time with his family/friends and he likes it that way.

UA can afford to meet any salary an NFL team will pay him, and if it's a problem then the boosters will just kick in the difference. Money won't be an issue if Bama wants to keep Saban.
If he still wants to prove his worth in the NFL at 61 yrs of age then so be it. He built this program up to where it belongs, the revenue is flowing, we got a stadium renovation and an expansion, and top shelf facilties. The program is on a roll just like he left LSU. Saban builds a solid foundation - look at Miles/LSU.

Question. Why is everyone saying he failed at Miami. The man coached 2 season there. Just 2. It is hard to say any coach in the NFL failed when they were only with a team for 2 years.

You can dream...ain't gonna happen. Saban will end his career at Bama IMO.

Profit is on par with the browns as they stand now(a shitty program) but as far as value, the browns are worth 10x's bama's program

Only what is atypical of current high paid coaches in the NFL, if the browns and their owner wanted to they could outbid bama by several millions. It's not as easy as you would think to just shell out money for a caoch at a public institution.

Personally I dont think it happens(Saban to the NFL), but if he were to leave, it would be the NFL and not another college program. There is too much time involved in rebuilding a CFB program. The only way I see him going to the NFL is to a franchise that would grant him control and have the means to pay a uncalled for amount of money. Only a few franchises would offer both, with the browns being one of them

Just one comment bout Nicky not having full control with the Fins. That is the main reason he took that job. The Fins' owner gave him everything there is to give plus. Nicky is all bout control, control, control. The front office was Nicky. Drew did not get an offer because, according to Nicky later, the medical staff did not pass him. This is widely recognized in the Miami media as being pure BS, as they knew Nicky had final sayso over everything there. The media there is a professional team media & did not permit him to run them over like he's able to with the local, college town media. Ask them how many times he lied & get comfortable as they will fill pages with examples.

If Saban wants the NFL life, then no amount of money will keep him here. And, IMO that's fine because he will be leaving behind a powerhouse program that even a crazyass like Les Miles can still dominate consistantly.
It is what it is, it's all just gravy to me now anyway. Bama's won 2 NC's in 3 yrs - lost 6 (SIX) games in 4 1/2 seasons - from here on out it's all just gravy.

"Why would he leave the most delusional and myopic fanbase in America, feeding his ego with no pro team in his state, with the bamaland-controlled SEC office a 45 minute Benz ride from his crib, with offensive holding calls coming at the rate of a lunar eclipse? "
Well, it took nine pages but we finally had every LSU talking point/complaint/paranoid delusion wrapped up in one post:
-Saban envy
-moral superiority to residents of Alabama
-SEC conspiracy to screw LSU/assist Bama
-referees hate LSU/Love Bama
