re: My life has finally begun!!!
Posted by buffbraz on 3/25/26 at 4:01 am to Lou Loomis
I loved my daughter the day she was born. But really the love builds exponentially as bonding experiences good/bad accumulate. Late night rocking to sleep or feedings, those first little smiles, but the real connections come from the care you give, like changing diapers, taking care of her when she’s sick. Once I was connecting on her care, our connection blossomed into the greatest bond of my life. She’s 7 now and every day is better than the last.
It’s really interesting to read the range of emotional crying from none to frequently. I listened to a podcast recently about the science of crying that was really interesting.
As I’ve gotten older, I find I get choked up more often: a sad or even just emotional moment of a movie, moving music(particularly if it has to do with dads and daughters), even thinking of my parents passing/daughter moving out or getting married/introducing myself to new teammates at a new job/being nostalgic about old times and friends that have either passed or I’ve lost connections with will get me choked up.
I will say when my Dad’s beloved Boston Terrier was at the end of her life a few years ago and having trouble breathing we were trying to comfort her and decide what needed to be done on a cold Thursday night in January. I went home and slept a couple hours and then went back to check on the dog around 4am the next morning and she wasn’t breathing in her little doggie bed she loved so much. I put my hand on her little head and cried like I can’t remember crying for what seemed like 10-15 minutes, I honestly don’t remember. I helped my Dad get her in the car so we could take her to the vet and get her cremated. A few weeks later, we had to suddenly put down our Maltese, Buddy, bc he was in liver failure due to cancer. We brought him to the same vet office to put him down. I was supporting my wife (Buddy was her dog to begin with but was beloved by me and my daughter over the years) but watching him be so scared and staring at us to calmly passing on, I sobbed again.
A few months later, as I was gearing up for a career change, I began doing speeches for a Toastmasters class. I wrote a story about this and gave a speech to our little group. It was hard but I got through it. Suffice it to say, losing dogs REALLY get me emotional.

A few months ago, almost 2 weeks after my six-year-old daughter’s tonsillectomy, she had a severe hemorrhaging event in the middle of the night from the right tonsil bed. Lost a cup or two of blood before it clotted. She was fine, but it scared the shite out of us. just a heads up.
Anyone know someone in the Columbia/Tylertown/Sandy Hook area that does this? Looking to put in about a .25-.5 acre pontoon our property.

Bad title. Rybelsus is already a GLP-1 approved oral medication. This is Novo Nordisk’s first oral. Says that in the first line of the article.
Rybelsus is an oral GLP-1 that is already approved for DM Type 2 (and now CV event reduction). Rybelsus is made by Novo. But the title is correct in that this is the first time semaglutide oral version obtained an OBESITY indication. Previously it was only indicated for DM. Im sure providers have been writing it off label for obesity before this announcement. You also have to wait at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything after taking it.
Lillys new oral medication, if approval happens, will not have the dietary restriction.

The trigger is spongy, the feeding mechanism is catchy, and the stock is flimsy. It’s fairly accurate for a cheap rifle though. I’ll be looking to get a higher end rifle next season. It’ll be fine for a backup or an extra when I have guests come to the camp.

Kiffin posting about Whit on social media again
I wonder if Kiffin got choked up when he introduced himself to his new team?
I wasn’t sure I wanted a child for most of my adult life. Now that my daughter is almost 7, I often think about how I could have been so close minded and ignorant to how awesome having a child is. She is my best friend, and I wouldn’t want to think about life without her. But the thing is, you don’t know this feeling before having children, it’s just one of those things you have to experience: you can’t verbally explain it to someone. If you have the means and you aren’t a total lunatic, most people will not regret the decision in the long run. I sometimes do regret not having more children.

Did Whit speak at the meeting. They generally have a player or two that talks to the group.
I hoped he didn’t get choked up introducing himself.

speak in front of groups all the time and I’ve never even came close to doing that again Looking back now it’s a hilarious story and I’ll tell it every now and then to a new group and it cracks them up
I just wasted 45 minutes of my life looking for the original post. Couldn’t find it.

Paging whit to see how he’s doing. He’s probabaly still trying to process the trauma of that event. I started a new job recently and was afraid I was going to pull a whit when introducing myself to the team. That event gets in my head everytime I have to do public speaking.

re: Anyone here ever dealt with Whitetail Properties?
Posted by buffbraz on 5/27/25 at 1:56 pm to ElDawgHawg
We recently bought some land in southern MS that Whitetail properties was listing. We had a really good experience with them. No issues at all.
Why can’t the implement the strike zone box to determine balls/strikes? The ump would still be needed for other things: hit batter, calls at the plate etc….
