I have actually heard this and just heard Birmingham sports talk radio speaking on Cristobal possibly taking over at Bama once Saban does.

He isn't even coming to Alabama. And if he did he won't stay but a year or two.

I'll believe it when I see it. And I probably still won't believe it.

He has definitely had a different demeanor this season. Not sure I'm ready to predict imminent retirement, but something has changed with him for sure.

Not directed at you, OP, but just a question.

LSU fans trot out Les Miles for winning a national championship post-Saban, despite their claim that he was generally incompetent. Ed is now receiving a similar treatment.

Just out of curiosity, how is it that Alabama is expected to drop like a rock post-Saban, when LSU did not?

Guessing your source is the same person on Tigerdroppings who said Riley to LSU is "a done deal"

I don't think Alabama will drop like a rock as that's not even realistic in the short-term, much less probable in the long-term. I do think they'll be brought down to earth a little bit, though, and our division should be more competitive. I don't think even most Alabama fans expect whoever they hire to be as dominant as Saban has been.

The GOAT may retire soon, but not until he names his successor and that deal is done in stone.

Bet.

Keep dreaming. Coach has a few more years. He will be around long enough to beat Kelly's arse a few more times.

He will either be fired by Bama or pass away watching film for the next game.

Not so sure you want Saban naming his successor. He did recommend Houston Nutt to replace him at LSU

Not with the team he has coming back next year. I could see him retiring after 2022 though.
