Wow. That's strange. I've always been told I sound somewhat like a robot. I always blamed it on the 'tism.

LSU is a founding member of the conference. Less than zero chance they get kicked out.
That doesn’t mean they won’t at least try to do anything as a punishment.
But those of you foaming at the mouth for LSU to be kicked out need to chill… take some shots… smoke a J… whatever you need to do to calm the F down. Because it ain’t gonna happen.

This isn't a reply to Old Money, just a reply on the thead with my thoughts.
I think there is no way that LSU is terminated from the SEC. I don't buy it.
I also don't know why LSU is defending this hill. I am baffled. Two players; one is hurt for weeks.
However, this isn't isolated to LSU. Didn't Mizzou just roster a NFL reject? What is the status there?
Are we terminating two teams?
There is a lot of talk. I will believe it when I see it. I want to kick LSU's arse on the field. Not banish them. Let's watch court tomorrow.

It's already been said multiple times in this thread, but let's try it again. Try to pay attention. It is more about the academic institutions being at the whim of courts on a case by case basis as to who they can and can't admit into their school. It's the legal precedent that is the issue here.
Bless your heart. If the NCAA was not a spineless, brainless organization, this problem that we are discussing wouldn't even exist. And if the SEC had better leadership that didn't try to make arbitrary threats when they clearly know based off of recent experience that the courts decide who is eligible and who isn't, then the discussion would be unnecessary.

All I said was that the decision must be reversed. And it will be. Can you not see why? Do you not see the problem it poses for athletics and the institutions themselves beyond athletics?

No, an LSU fan cannot see past athletics. Their academics are a joke

How we got to this point is irrelevant towards what needs to happen moving forward. The institutions and the league will fight this all the way up if need be because it's about protecting the integrity of the entire academic institution.
Arkansas hasn't been good in awhile now, but I'm still glad that Lane ended up at Ole Miss rather than Arkansas. Look at this frickin mess he has created.

I cannot believe the LSU fans aren’t worried in the slightest. They think they are above the other members of the SEC. They are a founding member and cannot be touched. Blah, blah, blah
It will be interesting to watch the fireworks when Lane puts those players on his roster.

If this gets formally put on the table, the question isn't whether LSU gets punished. It's whether there are enough votes to remove them from the conference altogether.
Maybe you could elaborate what exactly LSU has done or what SEC rule they have violated the would 1. prompt a penalty, or 2. expulsion?

They are. That’s why they’re lashing out because they are actually concerned the SEC will “completely overreact” to this

Seems unlikely but directly ignoring and going against the rules of the conference and doing actions as such would probably be a good way for it to happen.
I just can't imagine it goes too much further. If it did, it could get ugly.

The other thing too is that this isn't pro wrasslin. Bad press is not always good press. The guy hasn't even coached a game yet and he has his school in the middle of a frickin shite storm and is branding his team as a bunch of villains. No matter how this particular thing shakes out, you can guaran-damn-tee that he WILL leave LSU having blown the program to hell. It's hilarious that they seem oblivious to what is obvious to everyone else.

I am on record. LSU won't be banished. This will be a speed bump in the future.

Lane has specifically said he won't do this

Did you watch the Miami games under Jimmy Johnson?

And in the meantime LSU will be sealing it's fate. Potentially. Obviously nothing is set in stone yet, but these are serious discussions.
