These cases now have the potential to impact the autonomy and ability of academic institutions to decide whom they can or cannot admit, and how those rules are administered and governed.
How so?

1. LSU has publicly voted with the SEC on this issue. LSU agrees not to recruit Pro players.
2. LK has publicly stated he will abide by the SEC rules.
3. It is the local Judge who has granted these players a TRO.
5. Thursday, the Same Judge will hear all sides and rule either for or against the players.
6. If the Judge rules in favor then state law supersedes SEC rules. The SEC has already voiced they will abide by the Judges decision.
7. If the ruling is favorable for the players, then LK and LSU will have to make a tough decision.
8. If the court rules the SEC can’t fine, suspend LK etc, the SEC will have limited options.
Option 1. Ignore and play ball.
Option 2. Option 1.
This is only an issue this year. I don’t expect LSU to play these players even if they win. And hell no to all this kick LSU out. This is an internal family feud that’s gotten personal. There will be many other ways for the SEC TO EXTRACT their pound of LSU flesh.

magine two students applying to the same university. One has to satisfy the institution's normal academic requirements because he's a regular student. The other gets an exception because he's a valuable athlete and his attorney finds a sympathetic judge
You can't seriously believe that the athletes at any of schools don't get in now with lower standards than the regular academic student? You can't be that dense.

SEC teams will do one of two things. They will refuse to play LSU, or they will vote to remove them from the conference. No idea which it will be.

single team going through all these legal wranglings in order to get these players like LSU has.
LSU is not part of any suit, the players are. They are simply waiting to see what the court will do, just like Texas did when their NFL light player sued for his TRO. Who by the way, is on the team and roster.

That will not hold up on appeal. 0% chance.
Why is that?

All I said was that the decision must be reversed. And it will be. Can you not see why? Do you not see the problem it poses for athletics and the institutions themselves beyond athletics?
I don't even care about getting these players, but court decisions are not reversed strictly due to the amount of problems they might cause for people, institutions, etc. One of the main factors in court rulings is precedent and how things have been ruled on previously. There is no total match for a precedent here, but the fact that tons of players have previously been been given 5th and 6 years of eligibility by the NCAA may factor in here (along with the random timing of when the NCAA decided to implement this rule).

was kidding yesterday, but I wonder if LSU is truly stupid enough to continue this fight with the conference. It wouldn't be that hard to get twelve members to vote against such an action. As somebody put it so well yesterday. LSU is being defiant. They are not acting like a team member of this conference, and are outright saying they aren't subject to the wil of the conference members. They will do as they wish
Once again, LSU isn’t part of this lawsuit
The SEC threats to LSU is an attempt to get them to back down but it’s going to end up as egg in their faces.
It’s the principle now

Arkansas hasn't been good in awhile now, but I'm still glad that Lane ended up at Ole Miss rather than Arkansas. Look at this frickin mess he has created.
You think he created this mess? Lol.

SEC members on the LSU schedule will not play LSU this year and will now have an 11 game schedule. The game won't count on the records and LSU will be booted out of the academic consortium.
And who is going to compensate the networks for the lost revenue for those cancelled games you forecast?

Idiot? I’m not the one with an LSU education.

Personally I hope that your attitude is shared by everyone in the LSU administration. I think they should walk into court tomorrow, pull out their dicks and wag them at the judge and then tell the SEC to suck their balls. That'll teach 'em.
I see you are very dense. LSU is not a party to lawsuit. Players and the NCAA and the SEC. LSU isn't going tomorrow nor are any of their attorneys.
Its very obvious you're a troll...
