Uga alum and Georgia atty general had some strong words about it today. Not sure how much of it is just toothless politicking bc he knows everyone thinks lsu is trash and him condemning them is good pr. He is for tossing lsu if they don’t back down tho

The SEC isn’t going to give the ok for the player to play.

Also heard a talking head saying the nfl is discussing it now, supposedly they are starting to worry about cfb’s trajectory. Not out of moral discontent but they want to protect their free farm league.

If the league kicks LSU out for playing a player a judge said could play, LSU’s ensuing civil suit would end the Conference financially. The other 15 schools would have to empty out their coffers to pay for the damages.

I was kidding yesterday, but I wonder if LSU is truly stupid enough to continue this fight with the conference. It wouldn't be that hard to get twelve members to vote against such an action. As somebody put it so well yesterday.
LSU is being defiant. They are not acting like a team member of this conference, and are outright saying they aren't subject to the wil of the conference members. They will do as they wish

No it won’t. LSU has no grounds for defying SEC rules except to force their hand. The only way SEc won’t bend the knee is if they want to go independent. I vent say they won’t do that because LsU leadership along with Louisiana governance is some of the worst in the country

LSU isn't doing shite. They're waiting to see what happens tomorrow. They have not issued a single statement saying they plan to ignore conference rules.

Certain people are. The chair of the SEC executive committee went on record that it is something they have discussed. It is a last ditch nuclear option.
The problem is that if LSU plays these two players they are signaling they no longer agree to be governed by the SEC.
Expelling them won’t be the first option. But if they truly refuse to be governed by the SEC then there are really only two options. Cripple them so badly they aren’t a viable SEC member. Or boot them before that and allow them to become a member of another conference. Just kicking them out would be better for everyone then crippling them.
Some people believe this is a line that cannot be crossed. And LSU appears to be on the way to crossing it. Despite the other members of the SEC unanimously agreeing on it. The best thing that could happen for LSU is for the judge tomorrow to rule them ineligible. That is highly unlikely.
Many LSU fans still think this is about 2 players. It isn’t. LSU has always been the drunk crazy uncle that everyone put up with. But now he is shooting at cars that drive by and getting into fist fights with family at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

You keep saying LSU is doing this, and LSU is doing that, and LSU is being defiant.
Meanwhile, the facts are that there are multiple lawsuits vs the NCAA all over the country. In this specific case, there are around 30 athletes suing in Louisana court, roughly half are football players.
Why would LSU be assisting a bunch of non football players and players who have signed with other schools?

I mean, there's no way that judge's order holds up on appeal. The SEC isn't going to just accept a state court telling a national conference it can't enforce its own eligibility rules. This thing is headed way above that judge's pay grade
