I liked Pruitt and still do. He is ready to be a HC....but whatever AD hires him need to realize that he is going to come in swinging that big dick around and wanting things done his way.

I'm not so sure that he's ready but this sounds about right. Could be a great fit for a school like MSU which might do well with a coach who generates excitement for the program through somewhat belligerent behavior. Certainly not the right fit for all programs.

debateable... does he have SEC experience at all? or is he a sunbelt pro

Debatable? Has a much better head coaching record than Pruitt, and has done nothing but win at every level he's coached.

That's what we want... Pruitt is the guy. He will likely be HC at bama in 5 years... We are bama's training grounds now. only 75 miles away too

Home field is worth 3 pts, so State wins by only 24 points at LSU next season.

Bill Clark
Lane Kiffen (the offensive version of Jeremy Pruitt except with tons more HC experience)

Why would state hire a guy who will be gone after one or two years?

I’m just not a fan of hiring DCs. We need a creative offense to move the ball with the talent gap we typically have to deal with in the SEC West. I’ll admit I don’t know Pruitt from a hole in the ground, but if he’s gonna come in with some meathead talk about being physical and tackling (which are important) then I don’t like where we’re headed.

I know you're just gonna respond by saying your "trolling" or that I'm "melting" but I would just like to point out that no well-balanced adult whom people respect talks like this. I mean, this isn't even clever. Consider improving your game.

And LSU on the road, a place only Mullen was able to win at once and state is generally going to lose to us.

Still 9-3 or 10-2 is highly likely

What’s amazing is how good Saban is at hiring really good coaches every time one leaves. Never a drop off.

At least the other SEC teams are finding a way to continually inconvenience and annoy him.

In 2015 he reportedly wasn't happy with Kirby's focus after he took the UGA job

Last year he ousted Kiffin after all the hoopla over his future

Now Pruitt could be gone

State is where it is as a program. Any coach that brings you the success you want is likely to move on to better things at some point. You shouldn't handicap yourself by trying to find someone that can win enough not to get fired, but not enough to be wanted by anyone else.

Troy came in and punked LSU in Tiger stadium. I already checked mark that as a win.

Bill clark is a glorified HS coach. He has zero power 5 experience and 90% of his coaching is from the HS ranks. Not my first choice. 5 years from now with more college experience... sure

If Malzahn leaves AU, I would take Bill Clark over Jeremy Pruitt every time.

We need an offensive minded coach IMO.

He's been in college for 10 years and has more college DC/HC experience than Pruitt does.

Saban also turned to Pruitt after Clark turned him down in 2007.

And just set the UAB record for wins in a season.
