LSU did do wrong. Just like Ole Miss did wrong. Just like Alabama. Just like every team that’s been playing pro players. LSU’s case was highly public and took shape weeks before the season started, so it sparked the response, but this has needed to happen for months if not years. I support the lawsuit so that the SEC can govern this, because we know the NCAA won’t.
To be fair, LSU didn't actually roster or play anyone
I agree with you though. However, the conference jumped the gun with their lawsuit and now it's not going to work.
They should've waited until LSU actually violated the rule, now their claims just look dumb and ill prepared.

Agreeing to a rule banning pro players from the SEC while this was going on but then at the same time leaving 2 roster spots open to “simply follow TROs” was talking out of both sides of your mouth and definitely had something to do with the SEC filing the lawsuit. While I agree it would obviously have more teeth had they let LSU play the kids, the very emotional powers that be in the SEC offices likely thought if they didn’t stop them from being rostered, then they wouldn’t be able to get them off the field at all.
I think the Chambliss ruling pissed everyone off. Then they saw Lane doing it again 2 weeks before the season with “pro” players, and that powder keg lit.

To be fair, the SEC has always allowed players under TRO's to play.
The SEC took unprecedented action in this case yet wants to blame LSU for behaving as many other institutions have in the same boat.
But yeah, it's hard to argue that you're a responsible governing body when you create a rule/set of penalties and then immediately jump the gun and go scorched earth on a school that didn't even violate said rule.
Their lawsuit is pointless pretty much.

No. I just don’t care for bigotry. But you keep claiming melt after losing. Sad.

I can tell that you are pretty clueless to the entire situation and keep saying false information. Our state lawmakers are pissed and should be. Sankey dragged them into this lawsuit and it’s costing our taxpayers money with this nonsense.
SEC tried to change the rules after the fact. LSU never filed a lawsuit, the players did. SEC could have sat back and let it play out, they chose the nuclear option and it will cost them a boat load of money eventually when they have to pay the players from the civil suits and legal costs.

Everyone is so reactive to this point. All I said was I could see LSU counter suing or being drug into a lawsuit. I know this is civil and was brought on by civilians and not LSU the entity.
Who do you think is advising judges, politicians, and lawyers for the players? Do you honestly think anyone associated with LSU has not had any part in the discussions or advisement to sue the SEC? You can be involved without officially being involved in a suit.

I’m not sure it’s “pointless”, though I doubt anything actually happens to LSU over it. I think the SEC sees this as an opportunity to have a friendly jurisdiction give them the legal authority to oversee their conference and regulate conduct that the NCAA can no longer handle. This case is less about LSU being a bad actor and trying to specifically punish LSU, and more about the ability to know that they can handle future incidents. Again, highly doubt there will be anything that actually happens to LSU as a result of this, seeing as they never broke the rules, which is why the conference has made their case about “if” LSU does or did break their rules, they need the ability to adjudicate effectively.
