why would LSU sue the SEC?
LSU has never sued the SEC, but the SEC has sued LSU.
this is useful idiot babbling from someone that really doesn't understand what is going on.
As stated earlier this is setting up a civil damages lawsuit against Sankey and the SEC

I agree they shouldn't and should have as much plausible deniability as possible.
But IF they sue the SEC and dig in here woukd be a bad long term move.

Yes. At a time where there was no rule by the SEC prohibiting it.
Oh, wait - that’s right. The SEC only established those rules after the fact, when LSU tried to roster two football players. I forgot about that ex post facto rule.
But wait again - we were told it wasn't an ex post facto rule at all, just a clarification of a rule that was already in force.
So which is it, exactly? You can't have it both ways.

Can you stop with this made up straw man? LSU has said they will comply with the SEC rules. You are arguing a MOOT point.

what are your thoughts on Corey Stephenson being on the Ole Miss basketball roster?

Because your state lawmakers have a very F you attitude toward the SEC and often times you can't sgirjd uiursejf behind politicians or judges and I could see lsu counter suing.
The end game might be a civil damages suit but lsu could easily be coerced into this

I believe the rules should all apply and should be enforced appropriately to everyone, dont think lsu should be unfairly punished for the exact same scenario.

you want to make a list of all the college athletes that have been ruled ineligible by the NCAA and had a judge rule them eligible?

I wish we would just drop it , Ncca messed up by not including there class

Hypocrite. You can’t appeal to authority when decisions go the way you want then do a 180 when it doesn’t. You guys are fricking pathetic.

quote:This is the part that puzzles me, because LSU did not file a lawsuit. The Louisiana case is just one of several lawsuits around the country involving approximately 150 players. Brought by the players, not institutions.
LSU then doubled down by involving the SEC in the local court spectacle trying to humiliate the league as part of a flex by your new coaches, local judges and governor for local credibility and to provide an advantage to your school.
Indeed, if I’m not mistaken, LSU is a party to that injunction on the same side as the SEC, not against it.
The only connection I’m aware of that the SEC has alleged is that Louisiana’s attorney general filed an amicus brief supporting the student-athletes, many of whom were seeking eligibility to play at other Louisiana institutions. That seems well within her purview and hardly establishes that LSU is driving a nationwide effort to challenge NCAA or SEC rules.
So what, specifically, has LSU done to warrant being singled out? And why is the SEC portraying this as a uniquely LSU-driven effort, when there are virtually identical suits in multiple jurisdictions?

We agree on something.
And I'd bet that the attorneys for the football players and RJ Luis also agree on this. The SEC was compliant with court rulings in previous cases where a player sued over their eligibility. Now all of a sudden, the SEC has dug their heels in and is threatening LSU with severe penalties for even considering rostering players who were granted eligibility via court rulings.
At this point, LSU isn't going to roster any of the players in question. Too risky for LSU. But the players are pressing forward with their court cases so they have the groundwork laid for a big suit against the SEC and Sankey for financial damage from missed opportunities for exposure and NIL

It’s out of hand but LSU is not doing anything wrong or is unique in any way when it comes to trying to bring in players who were fully eligible to play when we brought them in.
I don’t see how the SEC or the NCAA can prevent any enrolled student from playing college sports regardless of years played or pro experience.
If LeBron wants to suit up for tOSU next season, I don’t think a court in the USA would say he can’t.
It’s simple US labor law.

So why is Corey Stephenson on the Ole Miss roster and allowed to play, but the SEC sued LSU to block Zxavian Harris joining the roster he won his court case to gain eligibility?

I’d be curious to hear what legal advice the SEC is getting from their attorneys. I don’t see a world where they don’t lose a treble damages claim to any player they kept from playing.

And no, LSU shouldn’t be punished because the players didn’t play, but the suit has to establish that they and everyone else can be punished if the rules aren’t followed
The SEC rules are a blatant violation of U.S. labor laws. It’s only a matter of time before their authority is completely removed.

The federal judge admonished the SEC's legal team for offering no evidence to support this claim. Finebaum has strongly insinuated that the OM and TN athletic depts were clAiming there were texts but shockingly there were no texts included as supporting evidence. You're insisting on believing a fool's fairy tale (Sankey.)
