Yep And I heard another one a long time ago. “Can’t imagine paying all that mortgage interest in financing a home” said one renter. As if their rent has no financing costs passed on to them…that they are paying (equity for property owner).

My tenants pay all the taxes and insurances. Especially the commercial properties where I only offer triple net leases. I get a tax break on the interest I pay on the mortgages.

The variety from state to state also blows their minds

I think that state variety isn’t nearly as pronounced as it used to be. To a certain extent you can a lot of the same stuff and same experiences in most of the states. I liked it better when the states were more unique.

China eliminates 12k "Outdated" humanities and social science degree programsby DesScorp

I’d really like to see this curriculum catalog from an institution that offers 12k majors. I would most likely be very interested in taking some classes there.

I tend to think that that there is no such thing as a useless degree. There are certainly people who will not make much use of any sort of tools or resources you give them, but I don’t see where four years of college is inherently useless. For instance, AirB&B was founded by two are majors from SCAD.

My wife likes to plan everything out but to me vacations are supposed to be fun and there’s nothing fun about only getting 4 hours of sleep

Itinerary doesn’t mean you only sleep four hours. The amount of time scheduled on the itinerary is a different conversation.

I make one for most extended trips so I can keep reservations and plans in order.

I know people who like to “have fun” on vacation and not be shackled by multiple plans. When they visit places I live they often get here and then suggest we go to a particular place for dinner and I explain that requires reservations weeks in advance. Same with certain activities. I can’t tell you how many excursions and activities require advanced planning.

distasteful to the rest of America who still has decency and moral values. Typical dumb liberal living in a bubble white woman

Instead of hating America you should turn off the news and travel a bit more. The Bay Area is one of the best places in the USA. Overall, the people there are amazing.

100% agree. If you’re gonna take to FB to share deaths, major medical trauma, or request prayers put it into some sort of context.

I typically scroll right past the attention seekers.

I’ve never been to NYC. In my bucket list… but this isn’t the 50’s and 60’s anymore..

I would have to think NYC is much better now than it was then. Definitely way better than the 70’s and early 80’s

I wonder how long it will take for that leaking roof, inoperable heater and plugged toilet to be repaired? Hmmm. Enjoy your rats nest.

Rather than hate America, you should really try to go visit some of it for a while.

About 10 posts before someone who has actually been to NYC and thinks for themselves makes a post…Fox News algorhythm must be on high.

If you want to hate all the great places and people in the USA watch the news. If you want to love the best parts of America go visit them.
NYC is still my favorite city I’ve been to in the world.
I really wish farmers would have to buy healthy food for their families with my tax money.
Has to be Mississippi by a lot. Not much redeemable there.

Not a damn thing, he retired in his 30’s.

I saw a stat recently that said 44% of the workers in nyc were born overseas and 38% of the people who live in nyc were born overseas. Migrant town

At what point in history was that number lower? NYC has always been the landing point for foreigners. I would think the only thing that changes significantly is where these people come from.

Guns are racist.
The Ocean House Hotel next to her house was putting up a huge tent for some big event about a week ago. Watch Hill is a gorgeous little beach town.
Is the data center concerns partisan? Which side? I’ve bought quite a bit of utility stocks in the last decade, partly for this reason. I thought data centers would coincide with a push for alternative energy sources but that part certainly appears to be partisan.

Fun to watch, cruise ship brawl

I was never a cruise ship person, but this has to be high on the list of things that were so much better when most people wouldn’t afford them.
If it’s affordable it probably sucks.
