Saban is just a prick all the time to anyone anytime anywhere. He just dials it down a bit when in front of momma. Bobby Knight doesn't even do that. Both win that way. But Dean Smith & CLM both won/win by being nice guys & both put players in the pros. I'll take the latter but respect the former as coaches. Only.

Do you ride around in his shirt pocket all the time?

Have you sat in a living room with parents hearing a recruiting pitch?

Naw, he just says to lay back and enjoy the rape.

Are you in Miles shirt pocket all the time or are you just going along with his public persona?

I don't think any of the fellas listed give a shite about your opinion of them.

tradition not being important and the large number who felt the position coach was more important than the head coach tells us something

Academics being first tells us even more.

The kids are FOS about some stuff, and this is like an exit poll after an election. People say what they expect people want to hear.

Like a boss.

I really don't think Saban can be as bad as people make him out to be. He seemed quite the pimp when he played some Michael Jackson for Rinaldi.

Position coaches are also the lead recruiters, so not much suprise to me there as well as the other reason I stated previously

I've met him before, although only one time, I can tell you he came off as a prick that was pretty full of himself. But there are a lot of people in the world who are like that

Not enough chest

Yea Les is a classy nice guy to your face and then he will trash you in public behind your back if you decide you don't want to play for him.

I've meet him before, a couple of times at golf tournaments. He was very direct when someone asked him a question, and he acted like he'd much rather be doing something else like working instead of playing golf.

When his wife is with him, he acts much more relaxed and easy going, not so uptight. I think Ms. Terri has a calming affect of him and he doesn't look quite so irritated when she's in his company.

Saban is a loner, workaholic, control freak that in a perfect world would spend all day and night in a film room or football field speaking to no one but his coaches and players. But his job requires more of him than that so he naturally seems like an arse any time he is outside of that comfort zone.

Pretty much describes him to a tee.

Then he threw in "you want to run out on the field with the team?" I was in control that day.

They should have asked which coach leaves you confused after speaking to him...Les Miles should have had that one by a "mile"

It was behind closed doors so to speak. He said that at the recruiting bash on signing day. Same place he made the "new rival in fricking Alabama" comment when Saban took the job. It's a glorified pep rally... nothing more. It's only because of some idiot with a cell phone camera that we even know about this comment. Whatever. These kids want to be treated like adults when they're being recruited so when one enrolls in school and gives you his commitment only to turn around and run back home because his mom said he was too far away, well, the comment was fitting in a way that only Les could come up with.

Yeah, I don't see how anyone would want to play for Les.
