I think that Indiana rescue shut down due to a lack of funding if I'm not mistaken.

LSU did say they will be trying to find another rescue donation like the last 3.

I got downvoted in earlier thread because I asked if the mix had anything to do with horrible recovery skills.

I know last time they had so much trouble finding a true Bengal.

I would love to see if they could get a Cub and raise it so the fans could connect even more personally, such as raising a child somewhat. Much like what Coog High did with Shasta once.

I don't think it had anything to do with his recovery skills, but I think I remember reading he was sterile due to being a mix. I guess it's different from domestic cats getting it on.

It simply depends on what rescue animal is available, and its level of domestication. LSU does not seem like the types to take a wild animal out of its habitat just to have a mascot - they're wanting to save an animal who would otherwise be in a bad place. It's commendable how they go about their search process.

So, a cub is fairly unlikely in those situations (as I think they would try and get a cub ready to be re-introduced into the wild)

No I truly appreciate their thorough process they go through. I just was thinking out loud if a cub could be an option. As you know there are some Cubs out there that are sold on black market and sent to some awful homes/places.

I just am shocked that this has happened so quickly, none of us expected it.

I do not mean to sound callous by bringing up replacements so soon, but a live Mike is part of the fabric of the University.

LSU fans - condolences for your loss. He was a beautiful animal.

Did I see there isn't going to be a public memorial service for him? If so, did they give a reason?
