Former Florida Gators and NFL linebacker Ronald Powell has died, former teammate Junior Galette announced on Monday. Powell and Galette were teammates together during the 2014 season with the New Orleans Saints and were a part of the outside linebackers room.

“I Love You Forever till we meet again an EXCELLENT FATHER Respected Brother and a Loving Son I am saddened to shared with the rest of the world that Ronald Powell Transitioned Earlier today,” Galette said via X. “REST IN POWER RONALD POWELL.”

Powell was just 32 years old and was a few months away from his 33rd birthday. He was a fifth-round pick of the Saints, selected No. 169 overall, back during the 2014 NFL Draft. Fourteen appearances occurred during his rookie year before being placed on injured reserve before the 2015 season.

U can pump sunshine all u want but the fact is Florida football is dead not coming back ever or at least not in this lifetime

If u are a real fan u should be upset but ur likely not or just a Disney Gator that thinks everything is all okay because Chip Howard is going to get a new kitchen in the swamp after reducing the capacity by 25000 seats

Maybe Ro Po is the lucky one as he won’t have to see the horrors upcoming for our shite show of a once proud program

#1 overall recruit in the 2010 class. He is still UFs highest rated recruit.

Sad, but I don't think this was a vax situation.

I think I remember this dude.
I may be wrong but thought he was one LSU and everyone wanted before he signed with what was considered an time team with Tons of highly rated 5 stars.

It's possible. He was the #1 ranked recruit of his class.

Ended up committing to Urban Meyer's last recruiting class at Florida, which was one of the highest rated of all time at the time.

A lot of CTE cases end up with suicide.

Does it matter?

He is still someone's loved one and now he is gone.

Prayers for his family.

You missed twice with your posts dude. You may need to step away from message boards for a bit and examine your life.

Jevan Snead comes to mind. I watched a video with him where he talked about the cotton bowl hit and how his buddies would talk to him about games and he couldn’t remember any of it. It was very sad and he died way too young at 32. Houston Nutt is a piece of shite for running him back out there when he was so concussed he didn’t know where he was. I wish ole miss would find a way to honor him like we do for Chucky.
